Before I left for vacation two weeks ago, I busted my butt to build out another portion of my frontend testing framework and get it in place (and spec’d) to unblock a coworker on a semi-high-priority ticket. I sent him detailed notes on which areas of the product it covers, how to use it, and copied one of his (blocked) tests over and updated it to use the new methods, pattern, namespacing, etc.
I came back today and discovered … he hasn’t even touched it. Everything is exactly as I left it.

Ok I just asked my manager if there's no way we can send this daily update to management once a week and she said not possible.
If a better job offer comes in, I'm taking it.
Adios, micromanagers... -
Holy heavens! I'm gonna work with a js framework at my day job.
After installing nodejs I'm immediately greeted by a warning that something is somehow broken. Installing the packages for the barebones repo leads to hundreds of dependencies and vulnerability warnings. I don't even know anything beyond document.getElementById().
On a scale of 1 to Squidward Tentacles, how much am I gonna hate my job?6 -
Applied to an AI startup, offering 100 bucks if I pass their coding challenge…hopefully just an algo question and not a damn jira ticket7

If someone is paying you to write software you can be a software developer. If you are in school or learning on your own, then you are just a software developer in training. If you have been writing software for years and are starting to hate writing software, then you need therapy. BUT YOU WILL FOREVER BE A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER! ;-)2
