Wrote this on a quote board at work after spending six hours trying to get one piece of software to work on Ubuntu.

    would write same for Windows and Mac anytime. even though they are paid
    you try anything out of ordinary (like installing updating sever software) on them and all hell falls upon you. the best part, missing documentation on such hacks.

    @apsa definitely not on OS X, if you use homebrew.

    On Windows it depends what you're trying to do but most things have an easy installer. Can get messy with with a webserver and PHP, though.

    @blufirex try installing php gettext on default version of php in 10.11 😲

    @apsa nobody does this because the default version is always utterly outdated.

    I fully provision Linux servers under 5 minutes while my Windows colleagues take half a day to do the same. My time means something.
