Not happy about the modern wave of apps producing really long file name suffixes rather than trying to stick to just 3. For example .afphoto. It doesn't appeal to my OCD nature.

    The three-letter suffix was just a historical accident though. DOS could only handle 8 character filenames, a dot, and a three character extension. Everything since (and even some before) has not had that limitation. And yet here we are in 2016 typing ".jpg" instead of ".jpeg".

    It boils down to that programmers are inherently lazy. Why type .jpeg when .jpg gets the job done? I guess these guys making long extensions didn't get the memo.
