I am a young newbie to developing. Any advice ?

Well, you will receive a lot of great advice from devRanters. I will just say, from someone far into his tech career, congrats on learning to code, enjoy, learn and teach the coders that follow you. Much success to you!

You will never stop learning, so keep digging. A good rule of thumb is when you go back to your old code, if you can't think of a few ways to make it better, you are not learning fast enough. Pick up the pace.

Don't quit. Even though problems sometimes seem impossible, you may need to just take a break and revisit it later.

Don't just take on easy projects. If you stick to your comfort zone you will not learn.

Don't snub other people's code. You might not understand it at first, but it does not mean your code is superior.

will like to add few more:
"if you are the smartest in a room, you are in a wrong room"
"if you can not critize your own code after few weeks or months, you are on a road with a dead end"
will keep on adding more.....

Personal projects will give you far more experience and logic than any project you do with a company. Develop your own projects, even if you never finish them.

As a developer who started a year back:
1. Create a basic project that covers all the concepts of the language(eg. DB, networking, views, etc)
2. try for an internship if you can
3. aim for helping others. You'll learn rapidly with this.
4. Open source is your best friend. use and contribute

Get a project. Seriously. If you want to do something, do it, you will learn anything you need pn your way.

Practice, practice, practice and be curious
