I feel that Microsoft putting a deadline on their Win 10 OS is just one more way to get people to buy into it

windows 10 is great actually. Their OS's life cycle though, is a different story.

it's their only source of income dude. That and office, stuff as much as they can down ppl throats

I would say Azure is pretty lucrative for Microsoft right now too. But it still stands, Windows 10 is good and now with the dev friendly bash soon to be included, not to mention their lightweight IOT build for Pis, it really feels like they're making all the right moves.

@mattjbones I tottaly agree. Microsoft is diversifying its product and cloud is the major shift. I like the move but I don't like how they are moving.

@newEntity I'm curious, what don't you like about the way they are moving?

What worries me is the bold ambition to have the all encompassing Windows Store, while in itself not a bad thing; more the walled garden that may result and if the journalists are to be believed the threat to Steam and PC gaming.
