Sometimes I just run top on a couple terminal Windows (same machine) just to make my co-workers think I'm an elite hacker.

Haha need to try that in my lab then :p
I was trying to send FLIR thermal sensor images attached to a RPi across Firebase and access it from an Android client. Couldn't work out the last part before the time ran out in this hack :/

@orion-ix that is cool! I've done a tone of home automation with RPi, it's always a blast to do IoT hacking. Is this for a personal project or professional? What is the end product of this?

@Seethe I guess you could say it was a personal project - it was a weekend's work in a FLIR hackathon. The end product was an immersive thermal vision VR app (think google cardboard) for a paintballing style combat experience. And nice! I've got 3 Pis and an Intel Edison with some Grove sensors lying around. Looking to get into home automation, any pointers???

@orion-ix definitely! What do you want to do? I've done pretty much all of the lighting in the house using a mix of zwave switches and WeMo switches. I built a web interface with NodeJS and Socket.IO for live updating. Turned out pretty well, still have some things to automate.

@Seethe I'm not quite sure...it all seems a bit overwhelming initially
