    windows updates should become a universally accepted excuse . like, i didn't work this morning , windows is updating and thats not my fault .. even better if updates gets stuck for a week you have a week paid vacation lol
  • 1
    as far as I see you installed a big update, so I guess you knew this was coming.

    Looks like a Lenovo Y50-70 or a new Y700. Nice. How are your display hinges holding up?
  • 2
    @flouss The Anniversary Update fixed alot of this problem. You can set active hours for your device so that the update doesn't install at that time.

    no more "windows updating" break time then ....
  • 0
    @flouss Yes and actually this is the version they should have released in the first place. Gives more control to the user. The earlier builds gave more negative publicity to Win10 just because of the updates.

    @EpIcInCoGnItO since windows 8 , Microsoft started releasing beta versions

    @flouss Have been an insider myself ! :) But what Microsoft had lacked in Win8, they made it up in Win10. Especially the start menu thing, it wasn't a big deal for me but it was for a lot of Win7 users. I love 7 as well as 10.

    @EpIcInCoGnItO yeah i remember people loosing their minds about the start menu and i didn't use it ( and still don't). Maybe this new releasing strategy gives better results after all . like a lot less of bsod and minor bugs

    @flouss Actually although Windows 10 has not been as successful as 7 it has its reasons. The big problem is releasing bugged builds, that's when they released that the best testers are the end users. And for people who do not care and what early versions it was a great idea. Even on phones Microsoft has released preview builds for devices at intervals, something Google has no control of for Android. Though Windows Phone is dead , this is one place where Google could learn.

    The Windows Insider is a big step as Windows is now WaaS 'Windows as a service' . W10 was the version of Windows, there will be regular patched, no new releases.

    @EpIcInCoGnItO i thought about that the other day since windoS has became a Saas why did they choose a name like windows 10 why not just "Windows" or something similar
  • 0
    @flouss That's a great point you make. Maybe to reach a hallmark.
  • 0
    @EpIcInCoGnItO at least if 10 would mean something maybe.
  • 1
    @flouss They skipped 9 lol I guess 8.1 was that.
  • 0
    @EpIcInCoGnItO haha i remember some people created wallpapers written " windows 9 "
  • 0
    @flouss Yes, you can hate it you can love it but you can never ignore it.

    @EpIcInCoGnItO back to work .. bye.

    @flouss See you too :)

    @azuredivay yes, blame the software
  • 1
    there's no excuse to be using windows in 2016.
  • 3
    @azuredivay "dont blame the software if the user cant use it" - is that how you progress and get away with your development endeavors? i would NOT hire you my fellow programmer :)

    @crazyidiot Y70 - display is quite good. its the driver update which barely keeps up with the OS updates. so, you have to disable nvidia when just doing windows work and not playing games

    To People talking about the "Active Hours" feature:
    - you're only limited to choose between 1 and 12 hours. you can't assign active hours more than 12 hours because microsuck knows better
  • 1
    @amjo I don't think I have any problem with it. For me 12 hours is enough for important work per day.
  • 1
    @sandeepb I think he or she is maybe past that point
