classmate: Hey, "friend" told me you do freelance website development. right? I need to create a new website and need your help.

Me: umm... OK... what's it about?

Classmate: It's for my dad's friend's business.

Me: OK. but I will charge the standard rate.

classmate: No... I will make it myself. I just want your help.

Me(Internally): ...not again...

Me: Do it yourself then.

Classmate: It will be quick. an hour or two max.

Me: *speechless*

Classmate: And one of my uncle who did IT told me that c++ is faster. can we use that instead of HTML?

Me: huh...?

classmate: you don't know shit.

... classmate walks away...

This guy somehow manages to get As in exams (mostly cheating. and our papers are shitty theory papers which you can mug up. so that helps) and in a year will have an IT degree.

Kill it before it spreads. Quickly!
  • 16
@KeyWeeUsr Damn right Sir. Fucking kill this disease, if it's left it will spread like wildfire and end up messing more normal lives.
  • 15
@EpIcInCoGnItO That would mean killing atleast 60 people (in my class). don't know if I am ready for such ruthless job.
  • 17
@KeyWeeUsr no. don't! idiots like them become our monkeys in office when they can't do shit at work.
  • 12
@flag0 You sir deserve a cookie for taming such shitheads. Not that I haven't. Seen alot of these anomalies myself. Thats when I started believing that we are unique.
  • 8
@g-m-f well technically WebAssembly is a thing so that wouldn't be wrong either
  • 4
    @Lawrenz1337 or... your boss. :D :(
  • 7
@KeyWeeUsr Yeah I was gonna say that, these guys are usually bosses. *loads the gun*
  • 3
@EpIcInCoGnItO in this world where most people just look at the grades and other useless stuff it's kind of expected. But then again, give them an assignment to make a simple webpage and guess who comes knocking on your door. Yeah, right...
  • 2
    @EpIcInCoGnItO @KeyWeeUsr
alright, alright. But I call dibs on (the) shotgun! 😁
  • 5
@KeyWeeUsr I don't think this grades trend will ever go. Thats why better to nip it in the bud.

"You can't carry the ring Mr Frod but I can carry you."
  • 3
    Sam... *calm satisfying smile*
  • 2
@Lawrenz1337 I will give you the opportunity to leave the fingerprints too, as a sign of thanks and admiration.
  • 2
@KeyWeeUsr *fucking gollum spying on us* 😂😂
  • 6
@KeyWeeUsr One thing I learned junior year degree was that do the minimum atleast while in college. I got extremely low marks because the professor thought that I bought the project from someone. I came to know of this only after the examination. Thankfully I passed and thats what I cared about. meanwhile people whose project didn't even meet the specs (including the one in the story) got an A for "attempting"
  • 2
@flag0 Better late than never mate. Pick up the gun. 😏
  • 3
@EpIcInCoGnItO Thanks, I'll make sure to use gloves, dismantle the gun (not that I know how to) and dump the parts at "random" locations

on a side note, this rant just got weird 😂
  • 3
@flag0 If student can explain what and how is written/works, doesn't matter if it's bought or not. That just means the student is lazy, not stupid. And you will see who is copy-paste idiot and who at least understand what's going on :P
  • 3
@Lawrenz1337 You see how it brings the animal out of us. I am surprised, I have lived a life of simplicity and peace, I am shocked to see the human in me unravel. It's sad you know, I want my life back.
  • 1
@KeyWeeUsr thats what it told her. I could explain how everything of it works. That unfortunately started a rift between her (and whole of the teaching staff by extension) and me. and given that they had already sent the marks to the uni didn't help either.
  • 3
@KeyWeeUsr Totally agreed. I have seen as slickers all the way trying to please people. You need to be clever as well as lazy at times to know the shortcut.
  • 0
@EpIcInCoGnItO not having a gun is what stops me from killing such people most of times. and people ask why I am so anti-social.
  • 2
@flag0 Anti social elements unite on Devrant. Fuck those dumbwits :)
  • 4
@flag0 Please don't consider this as gender offense or something, but almost in every situation where the teacher was a woman and I was the student, the woman was nobrainer. I hope this is only my luck? However I knew two(2) women that were absolutely amazing not only with machines, but math and other science-like stuff too. I was astonished, almost felt stupid and then - why there aren't there more people like them(2)?
  • 3
@KeyWeeUsr Man are you reading my mind because in my case 80% of these wk13 shit has been an experience with girls. Not trying to generalize but I have had a similar road.
  • 0
@KeyWeeUsr totally this. I know a few women who are great at these things but they are rare species
  • 3
@EpIcInCoGnItO It's so sad! I mean, it's kind of obvious there won't be a lot of women in IT subjects, but seriously, one of those women I knew was over 45 and man, she's that person you'd call "ma'am", the brain power! It isn't about those stupid people who don't know shit. It's about the people who choose/employ them and this way screw other people. -_-
  • 2
Dude if you think well, people who know most are the ones that have the mediun/high grades. no always tje high grades. Just for a simple reason. They explore a lot. They usually come with better solutions for problems. But usually they dont have to time to complete then. So a medium grade. But in the end the knowledges stays.
  • 3
@claudiofilipe21 I never cared about the grades much. Most of our curriculum and papers are theory and I suck at theory so mostly score in the Practicals and whatnot. what I didn't like was that I had worked hard for a college project on that one (was new for degree. didn't knew people were this dumb getting bachelor) and was expecting good grades from it since the other part was theoretical history of web and networking (think history but no battles).
  • 1
@flag0 I understand your pain, but every year that pass the people are getting worst. Unfortunently
  • 2
@KeyWeeUsr Yes and in case of women when they stand out they stand out. Women can be ferocious with knowledge. On the other hand the ones we talked about can absolutely make you feel like you want to grind you brains out.
  • 3
finally after reading this I think I am not alone to think like some time kill people who spreads shit like this...that classmate hurts us a lot scumbag
  • 4
Nah, don't kill anyone. They'll fall on their own swords when that GPA doesn't translate into a salary in a few years.
  • 0
Question is, who of us is that guy? Yeah, I'm putting a finger towards me, now, but I'm not that C++-savvy, u see...
  • 1
@Vicky no you aren't unfortunately. and having that killing feeling is risky normal reaction to this level of stupid

and I asked the mutual friend later about his "website" and turns out he is using WordPress of all things.
  • 2
@g-m-f well we all need some therapy to not kill people

the last part about theory was enough for me to predict you and your friend are from India 😂😂😂

@ShivamArora where else can outdated ancient theory be more important than reality!?

A PM in the making. And a fine one!!

This is not idiot...this is advanced idiot!

You can also surf the web without an internet connection.
  • 1
Listen, you should be thankful that he said that and walked away. Much more desirable than actually working with him.
  • 0
OP: you sure he wasn't talking about Emscripten? That is a legit C++ to Javascript compiler based on Clang-LLVM and Mozilla's ASM.js Javascript subset.

I used it at a previous job to help port a heavily C++11 mobile game to browser. The output binary's performance is phenomenal.
  • 0
@capnsoup I am fairly sure he wasn't talking about that. Also how good/bad is it to work with? Haven't used it yet. Sounds promising, would like to toy around with it
  • 1
If you're comfortable building applications with Makefiles and GCC or LLVM it's pretty easy and not all that different. If not, there will be a pretty big learning curve.
  • 2
Tell him that he needs to configure his computer first. And that he needs to delete system32.
