i don't want to start a flame war, but php powers a decent portion of the web.

    node has it's place too.

but there's so many new technologies that do it's job much better for the next generation web than serverside javascript, or php on apache that doesn't even support sockets for example.

I'm using php, but only because I already know how it works. I'd be more than happy to try something new.

I have always used node for server side this is the first time I need to create a server using php that's the reason why I am much sceptical about it. I wanted to code in node but my college servers don't support node . the worst part is they have made half of the website in php5.3 . Do you think this will be a problem

JavaScript is like South Park's five-arsed monkey.

Both have their place, really depends on personal preference, framework, etc.

@tahnik just curious, why do you hate php so much?

@orijin I don't, I used as sarcasm to the comments on the top. I used laravel for a while and I loved it.

@tahnik Laravel could make me enjoy PHP again, pretty good to work with
