Everyone I've ever tried has just gotten in the way of my typing, or just felt flat out wrong.

    Absolutely not.

Like condoms. The right thing to do but boring.

As long as you don't eat at your computer or have horrible dandruff/hair loss, you should be fine without one

Nope, but I do have a five-year-old (who is not allowed to touch daddy's laptop, but that has yet to stop the constant cloud of debris that surrounds all kids that age) and a rather long beard that I tend to twirl when I'm thinking.

@Rowsdower maybe get as have is cheaper? Kids still an issue though. Have a 3yr old and know exactly what you mean. They are incompatible with anything that is not waterproof to 30m and conforms to MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5-Shock standards

You misspelled "Buy a Mechanical keyboard."
