Switched banks, got new e-banking, unable to set up a new password.

It contains invalid characters.

IT'S A FUCKING BANK ACCOUNT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE HASHTAGS OR EVEN HAVE FUCKING SPACES IN IT IF I FEEL LIKE IT.

    * Your password must be between 8 and 8 characters long
    * Your password must contain lower-case characters.

Idk about spaces but I know I can use most characters with my bank, and up to 32 long. I logged in at the bank once and they lady was astonished I had such a long password, and that i had it memorized.

Super duper European bank ING home bank only allows 6 digits as a fixed password for the home bank.

SMS confirmation is mandatory but still, 6 digits, no character?

Even yahoo has better security these days...

I've been there as well, so I feel your pain.

Why can't these idiots just have a minimum length and call it a pass-PHRASE rather than a pass-WORD?

And when will they realise that adding restrictions like must have upper and lower case letters, and must contain at least one digit actually REDUCES the number of possibilities thereby making it LESS secure?

What i hate about password restrictions is that there should be only 1 restriction on the password (min 6 characters) I think any other restrictions after that is like controlling how to live your life. If the user's account or profile gets hacked because of his/her dumb password? Well thats his/her problem for not having a good enough password.

I always include at least one Satanic ritual and an undiscovered type of bacteria in my passwords.

UPDATE: turns out the system had already a set password. I set it when I was a client once for a year and they were the only ones with mobile banking. It was 11 YEAR AGO!$#

I don't remeber my password from 11 god damn years ago SHAME ON ME!
