What do you guys think of GitHub?

I like it. I think they could look at innovating some more though. I also like GitLab, they are actively developing constantly and putting together a nice package (built in CI, free private repos etc (ok I only use that for dotfiles but still nice to have)).

GitHub still have the best UX but they don't seem to be moving forward much.

It's not like ... baad, but i don't like the idea that whoever it is, there's someone behind the thing that host your projects. If it's for a little personal project, it's fine. If you plan Something bigger, i think you'd better be using a personally hosted GitLab or something similar. Hell, you can even get a bunch of cool features like C.I. with GitLab

Awesome tool, it makes open source contribution easy as a childs play. Just pick up a project you like or want to improve and you are part of it, I really enjoy it.

It's good... but we don't need it. Like, as a company it doesn't need to exist. We've placed way to much code and issue tracking into the hands of one company, when we would be much better off with a decentralized P2P system like gittorrent.

++ for the topic. I've been tasked with finding our agency a suitable git client; not sure if github or gitlab.

I use github for my own projects, mostly from the terminal though. Not everyone on our team likes the terminal..
