I always point family to my younger brother because he's the "hardware guy"... he's a software developer too. 😂

A software developer is most likely to ask the right questions before giving a recommendation though..

But a soft dev should be able to tell what resources they need for running the programs they use for their job easily... if their programs are slow then they need more resources... if someone asked you what to buy and not doing anything intensive then whatever you use minus a little should be just right
