What do people here use to 'manage' projects in small teams?

Im currently working in a team of 2 and using gitlab for git and using the changelog for changes and todo stuff.

Its working 'alright' but its still a bit of a hassle specialy for 2 persons.

People here use other tools that are faster to use etc?

I found gitlab to be a bit too slow. I'm still using github. There's also bitbucket, which I haven't tried.

Gitlab, github and bitbucket have "Issues", which is perfect to track todos etc. Just use proper tag in the issue. Gitlab has also issue board (github got one couple of weeks ago called Projects). Using cards is a nice way to track todos and backlog.

Theres also Trello but IMO gitlab and github offerings are enough and you can nicely close issues in commit messages.

@cahva well yes the issues work nice but for a small team it was so much extra work to do..
