I like PHP and I develop on Windows 10.

And I have a light theme on my text editor.

    I like PHP TOO

    PHP > server-side JS

But i prefer Darcula theme in my PhpStorm tho..

    @hitzoR yeah it is.

The only one I disagree with is the light theme. I enjoy the dark side.

    Are you Lucifer?

Why dont we have tshirts with languages for our personnas?

For a light theme in phpstorm I find EyeSaver to be quite pleasant.

I think you missed out the word "not" at the end of your rant.

PHP can be great when done correctly and I also use my editors light theme. Can't stand windows 10 but 8.1 was okay-ish.

    @lkpridgeon what's better about 8.1 compared to 10.. :)
  • 2
@lotd The win 10 privacy issues for example.
  • 0
@LucaScorpion there are plenty ways around it as far as I a
    am concerned
  • 3
@lotd The fact that you would have to work around it in itself is bad enough for me.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I ++'ed this post thinking it was sarcasm. Took it of again reading the replies, making me realise OP is serious.

@DarkMukke Of course it's sarcasm. Nobody, repeat *nobody*, uses a light theme.

    You monster...

I do like the light theme..

But my monitor brightness is in its lowest setting.

I no longer use dark themes because alt tabbing to firefox (which starts in a blank page) was the equivalent to a flash bang to the face.

Get back to hell you foul demon!

Isn't php just the successor to classic ASP??
  • 3
@LucaScorpion actually, almost everything has an "off" slider and there are easy registry tweaks for the rest.

Also, your phone (no matter if it's an android ir an iphone) tracks waaaay more stuff than MS could ever think of... yet no one nags about apple or google privacy. Somehow it's windows who's a problem yet you cant install a single app on the phone without giving it permissions to your left kidney.

    Oh, yea. Php is awesome

    Darula for life!!!

@Skipp Oh yeah I complain about google and android too :P I've stopped using google, Android is a bit harder to get rid of though...

    <3 php

@lotd It feels more fluid and the search function is not attached to a thing I have no reason to use. There is nothing to the right of the clock and I actually liked the charm menu.
  • 1
@lkpridgeon I see.. Well that could be mentioned in that rant about how to improve Windows 10 :)
  • 3
Going to flag this as offensive, sorry :D

Can't stand non-statically typed languages. I think most JS/PHP/etc developers prefer them because they tried Java once and realized it was terrible, therefore assuming all statically typed languages were like that.

@Artemix Use to agree about JS all the way, but TypeScript makes it surprisingly manageable (still not enough to use it). That said, you still deal with all the nuances of JavaScript. 😕

I thought I was alone on the light side!
  • 0
@Artemix TamperMonkey? What browser do you find that in?
  • 0
@Artemix oh ok, makes sense now

    BLASPHEMY!
Ye shall be thrown in /dev/null! 😂

... I'm joking! 😉 I like you guys, no matter the theme of your IDE or the language you're developing in, I still like you. #DevRantFamily 😀
