What is your favorite code editor and very important why, why?

    Vi the only. Don't even start on sublime please.

    I'm using Visual Studio Code and I'm really liking it.

    PHPStorm, there is no substitute for a proper IDE

    vi, and also lately a few of the JetBrains IDE's. They work fairly well.

    Atom, because its made by github (I know its very much like sublime, but github.)

    You should use one that suits what you are doing, the way you work and doesn't slow you down. As a web developer and Mac man I use Coda by panic, a native app. It covers all my bases with tonnes of useful coding features.

    why not sublime text, it has all the features of the wonderfull code editor.

    why nobody mentioned emacs ? :'-/, mentioned sublime fuck and al those code editors is like to say that Steve jobs had contribution greater than Denies Ritchie

    What programmers say vs what they mean:

    Emacs is awesome : It's too quiet here, let's starts flame war.

    Although, joking aside, I used my own home build editor for several years before I couldn't port it to my work machine, I'd used emacs before at uni so promptly took the unconventional advice of "better the devil you don't know" and installed gVim.

    I love its navigation and key bindings!
