today our senior dev said that (part of my code) is crap...I asked him how to do this the wright way...he did'nt answer.... :/

    You can tell him that "Your code is crap" is not constructive criticism. He may be right, but he needs to be able to formulate his objections better. Being a programmer does not mean you only speak to the machine, you gotta speak to humans too.

    If they cannot explain their critique it might just be that know less than you and does not understand it.

    While I have been programming since before most of my collegues was born (literaly yes) I still strive to either teach or learn. Knowlege in programming needs to ne refreshed constantly and new collegues might have learned something new that I have not seen yet.

    The code could be crap but thats an even better reason to explain ehy and how to improve.

    Without explanation its just a biased opinion ;)
