Hey guys, I'm a beginner web designer/dev. After learning html css js jquery and all that what should i learn next? There are so many options and googling just makes it worse. Any suggestions?

    A back end language like .net, python... It is popular right now to build web apis as a backend and use angular or react as the front the front end. The are many choices but in general a backend in any of the popular server side languages and you can never know enough about databases and sql.

    @georgelynch thanks for the reply. I see node.js all the time.. is it really that good and php is really that bad( started learning php a couple of days ago). But I see people use ruby python, java, .net and I feel like im in a maze.. what should i invest my time into?

    Different languages are preferred in different markets. Where I live it is all .net, node, and a little python. Sql and working with databases is one of the most useful things to know and it does not change as much.
