Never been to one.

I'm firmly opposed to the idea of sacrificing sleep and free time just to show everyone how awesome and creative I am.

I also feel like it's bad for the industry that we want to promote the idea that devs just constantly code, whether at work or as a hobby. What other profession is like this? I understand if it's your ultimate passion, but I feel that hackathon events are more about showing on your resume that you are OK doing nothing but code, constantly.

Get your point entirely but in my case, I just love hackathons! Idk why haha

I consider it if I'm doing it for myself. But never in the name of an employer. It's my sleep, my free time!
