Am I wasting my time doing a Software Engineering degree when my main interest is Web development? (we study nothing related to html, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, Ruby etc) it's mainly C++ and C#

I would say stay on your current path. You may not think you need it now, but having a solid foundation of CS courses (versus say going business development as degree and doing web dev as work) is very valuable down the road.

Thank you! We just broke up for the year and I'm having a mid uni crisis

MIS degree is what I got with web development.

I find that a lot of web dev's (not all) are lacking in oop concepts... when you're working with js on an enterprise web app, you definitely do not want 100% procedural code. Having solid programming foundations is a good thing!

Plus, if you're into c#, full stack development is pretty easy using mvc webapi!

get the foundations of OOP. languages don't matter.

if you have no understanding of development you won't be much help.

Could finish your degree and in your spare time learn Web development.

Web developement is a piece of cake if you know OOP principles and C#. IMO.

    just sharin.

i'm a student also and they have taught us VB.Net, and i have just researched and self studied about Web Development (html, css,js,php, etc.) (and just to say, also C# and Java where i gained a lot of knowledge about coding) because this is what i want.

them teaching me VB.Net didn't clearly helped me with what i want now, but i can say that i didn't waste my time. I didn't focused on the language (VB.Net), but i grasped the ideas && concepts behind and around it.
