I hate windows, the fucking constant updates and restarts as soon as I start working.

I have been wanting to make the change for a while now but I would like to ask the community first, which Linux distro should I start with? I understand most basic bash commands and am fine navigating the command line, but would love to hear people's opinions. Thanks!

I'd recommend Mint. It's easy to use, pretty stable (in my experience at least) and just works great in general!

@linuxxx I have to admit that I use Elementary os myself but a tiny bug here and there keeps me from recommending it really (I'll manage since I've been using Linux for about seven years now :P)

Start with Alpine Linux. Gonna be fun, challenging and very fast

I like Fedora, especially the latest one (25) with Wayland. Really fast on an l5 laptop, with a sparse ui to get out your way to get stuff done.
