@liverreich what git is to your source code, docker is for your environment.

It basically packages your application and all its dependencies into one single file, which then can be run on any machine running docker on it. You can be sure that if it's running on your machine it will run exactly the same way on any machine. ( Devops trump card ). You configure your environment once and then just run that file any place any where...Without having to worry about will it run on different OS? Or do I have right version installed? Etc...
