I simply don't understand anyone who uses Adblock.
I have had a single virus in my entire computer life, and it was from a dodgy .exe on someone's flash drive, so I don't need it for that.
If a site is too ugly with ads, I leave. Otherwise, I deal with it because people need to eat.
If you use it most places, you are cancer to the web.
If you live, like I did for 18 years, with the <200kbs peaks or less, maybe I could understand, but for the rest of you, I have no respect.

@liammartens It pays the YouTubers and they make amazing content. If you block it, they don't get paid

@iam13islucky look I can deal with non intrusive content such as they do on thenextweb but I despise advertisement that prevents my user experience. I dont know if you can understand that

Easy: tracking, profiling. You have no idea where yor information ends up. (Funny no one has mentioned this)

BUT, there is an initiative to allow unobstrucive ads, with tracking that does not includes personal data.

And this is posible thanks to (some) adblockers.

    Research: Acceptable Ads.

Only Google knows whether adv were consumed or not and pays according to their data which we don’t have access to. And we never know whether the host websites & bloggers are being paid the legit dollars or not.

I completely agree. No one should ever block ads.

    Except me.

Ad block? Only? Try using ghostery. It is the real deal.

Being online should be exactly like that. I don't have to share anything at all (default option) except when I want to. Not the other way around.

Oh, and ads are annoying. Only very very small ads that are not on top of the content of the page are...you know, ok. But all ads are trying to do is to make you do something you don't want to. I have never even once used 1 ad and found useful where I saw its link at the first place. Not once!
Now imagine all the money they get for that. Doesn't make sense for me. If I want to buy something, I will. If I want to search for it, I will. You don't have to shove it in my face. I entered one page to see some content!!

    Freedom to ad-blocks!!
