Was wondering, what's so good about dark themes? I just use the default and tried but don't use things like Flux.

I don't feel I have any problems but.... wondering if I should switch?

On bad displays, with bad lighting or general long exposure to screens your eyes will start to strain, get itchy or you might get a headache.

Many people feel like a dark theme reduces such problems, since it enables you to keep your contrast high (=> good readability) but still reduces the blinding light that large white portions of the display produce.

Also it is way more h4xxor 1337. :P

@StevenZ Oh I don't code that late although I do notice if I wake up and use my phone, I like the brightness at 0 if I don't turn on the lights.

But why would you code in the dark?

@allanx2000 cause sometimes your parents/children/SO shouldn't know you are awake. :P
    Or personal preference.

Best time to code is in the middle of the night and you know you have to get up early.
And you don't know it's night when the lights are on.
    Thus dark themes were born

@xenira hm.... every time i m up at night, my parents wake up and yell at me to go back to sleep... so I don't code late night.

Though sometimes my brain does but it works best in bed, in the dark.
