    @RazorSh4rk stop this urban legend that linux (and osx/mac os) has no virus... btw I use no one on Windows, if you're not so dumb to click on any banner/file you're safe

    @RazorSh4rk so of course they don't run on linux :D

    yeah they exists but they don't spread for different reasons:
    - they don't care to target an OS with 2% of market share
    - the users that use linux are on average more smart than the average of other OS users
    - this and that makes more harder to spread

    @dontbeevil would take about half an hour to port all of them

    @runfrodorun Got any resources for best practices for Linux permissions configuration and the like? Just sounds like you may. You can just ignore it if it's a hassle.

    @runfrodorun Wow! Thanks for that. I'm going to look at that very carefully. Much appreciated, seriously. Thanks. 👍

    @RazorSh4rk Nahh I'd target windows or macOS. Bigger user base so likely more infections

    @runfrodorun True true

    I've used rkhunter to watch for changes on the system, but not had to deal with any malware on Linux yet (knock on wood)

    Hey. Quite interesting. I read several articles about that it is necessary to have antivirus on almost any OS. Additional protection will never be superfluous! Personally I use Windows and antivirus is a must. I recommend to read how good is McAfee on https://antivirus-review.com/mcafee... and choose this application.

    Right. The most used OS for webservers will never be targeted because "it's not popular enough". Here's an article https://linuxsecurity.com/features/... .
