My friend keeps claiming Internet Explorer is better than everything else until I told him that Microsoft doesn't update it much anymore...

    And he didn't realize that by the fact they replaced it with a new browser? smh

    He was using Windows 10... surprised that he didn't even notice the new browser Microsoft added.

    @atomicbeast101 doesn't it use Edge as default? Wouldn't know, not a Windows fan...

    I seriously have no idea. He probably read it somewhere that said Internet Explorer is the best browser. Probably from a really old advertisement.

    @atomicbeast101 it is the best browser out there... for fucking up websites

    @gustash Made me giggle.

    I heard it was the number one browser in the world to download better browsers.

    Internet Explorer 11 is still active development for backward compatibility and corporate environments.

    IE11 is indeed in active development. edge is a really good (and fast) browser. IE10 and lower sucks indeed.

    Their speed and security I won't argue cos I don't actually know. What I do know is that we had to drop it as a supported browser for an in house web app.

    What would be a fifteen minutes to patch and deploy a fix would turn into us either polyfilling the shit out of the source code and increasing the page load time for all users for those two IE holdouts, or we just do the fifteen minute patch and say "btw folks, IE/edge doesn't support the browser technologies we need, it's now no longer supported"

    @nmunro why would the polyfill affect none IE users? Just load the library in a conditional comment...

    @kwilliams Because if I told someone I could do that they could then say "So you can support IE?" and IE still doesn't support the other features we want to use and I don't want to write conditional polyfills every time we want to use a new feature.
