Me: What if there are changes to the code in future?
Dev: We'll manually retest the implementation. It'll be fine.

I believe automatic testing can only improve the quality of the product as developers can work faster. One who doesn't understand that should perhaps not work with software. I wouldn't buy software from somewhere where they don't use automatic testing, the software would be full of bugs!
