    @makzimalist yeah, I've just seen it. It's not going to get popular overnight, though. The Java community is huge. Chances are that Google will release a new OS and a new language before Kotlin even have a chance. But that's a big first step into recognizing that Java is flawed.

    @makzimalist So am I. If you think that Python, Lua and C# were never officially supported by Android... I think that says a lot about Kotlin.

    It's fucking bullshit that all smartphone os dictate the programming language.

    Operating systems should build the base for running user space programs and therefore provide an API for them to run. The developer of the software should pick the language of his choice, not the developer of the underlying os.

    From the point of software development I will never understand why the mobile software market could grow that big, although so many existing software had to be ported to completely different languages, and even worse several times for all systems.
