Why are there so many mobile apps trying to teach children coding through obscure logic puzzles? Is it really that difficult to open a text editor and the docs side by side and learn.

    It's to make the idea of coding interesting. It also allows kids to get a bit of exposure to coding, esp those who might not have encountered it otherwise. You can't be what you can't see.

    I had a LEGO Mindstorms once, and I remember quitting it because of the no-text-awful-useless-block-and-unreadable-connections programming, which wasn't replaceable by anything, you had to stick with it. This is what I understand as "oversimplification"

    @Tored how old were you? Because at around 7 or 8 I couldn't grasp more than that personally
