Hello, I'm new here and I was wondering if there were other students on here. I'm fine with talking to anyone but I can't help but feel too intimidated to talk to experienced professionals.

    What do you study ?

    I have a job as a programmer but I definitely wouldn't say I'm professional ๐Ÿคฃ

    And welcome!

@alwaysmpe what does it take to be a professionnal ?

Hey man don't feel intimidated, we've all been (or at least a lot of us) where you are! I'm officially a student but i passed my exams. Feel free to mention or talk to me without any pressure :)

Currently college dropout; working in IT back home in The Bahamas until i find better work

@rajilsaj I would say part of what makes this industry great is the flexibility. I'm a DSP math guy more than a programmer tbh. There is also little distinction between hobbyist and professional. I roll up to my job in shorts and t-shirt 9 months of the year.

@alwaysmpe ok I see what you mean

Computer Engineering Major, Applied Math and Computer Science Minors 3rd year ๐Ÿ˜

@rajilsaj I'm just getting a general computer science degree but i like to practice on my own as well. Recently I have been learning javascript, but I also know java and c++.
  • 2
@linuxxx I wouldn't mind that. I've taken my computer science classes online and none of my friends know programming so I don't really have anyone to talk to about it.

Been in the business for 17 years now... #stillAStudent

Don't be impressed. None of us know everything.

I am a professional in the sense that I get paid to code... but I'm very unprofessional ๐Ÿ˜‚ and I'm a student.

Student here, as evident by me procrastinating on devrant as oppose to studying for exams.
