Intel's new CPUs are faster, so your text editor can be based on a slower version of chrome, with a even slower bloated JavaScript framework. Congratulations!

If you think Atom is too slow for you try VS code it's perf is better than Atom's

    - frameworks are non-specific
    - cpus are general purpose
    - electron is webkit based, not chrome.
    - chrome is not slow

@liammartens I tried vs code a couple of months ago. Atom may be prettier and offer a higher degree of customization and tiling, but vs code has none of the freezing and general sluggishness so it kind of just took over from then and there.

    Looks like my phone....
Android 6.. Super fast, even with 200 apps installed... Update to Android 7?hell yeah...

@nblackburn actually Electron is essentially Chromium with Node.js bolted on. It's definitely not just Webkit, it's using Chromium code to handle a ton that is outside the scope of Webkit, like processes.

Btw, about my phone... Was going to factory reset and found the solution... Wiped the cash partition... It's great now.
    Android sucks more and more...
I could run Linux easely in a 4core 1gb ram Alcatel... Now I can't even run a web server properly...
