    @AlmostWeekend you do know companies change right?

    @AlmostWeekend relatable
    Personally own an i7 and never owned an AMD but I hope they get a better chance than in the past

    Use a 2500k as a holdover until I can afford an i7. Been an intel fanboy all my life, but had a beautiful 8 core AMD workbook at my last job and it was fucking beautiful. Plus, linus had a point, this Intel announcement was really poorly managed.

    @monr0e Great to hear that you are fine with both. 👍
    Linus was so depressed when he shared his opinion on the i9s... It was actually more entertaining to watch than I expected

    Well... as an ex computer hardware hoarder, I had a lot of CPUs pass through my hands and I have to say that if I had to choose between intel hardware with x price and AMD hardware with x/2 price, I would go for intel. But then again I am not after pure power but reliability nowdays. Oh and btw Linus was talking shit about nvidia as well but ALL my nvidia cards work out of the box with Linux. ATI though? Oh maaan...

    @TimoHo I suppose its the difference between actually having six physical cores, and having six effective cores. With hyperthreading, Windows can address the processor as if it were a hexacore, in theory increasing instruction queue efficiency.

    @cyberlord64 when you mean work out of the box, do you mean with the crappy Nvidia drivers? Because that's not working out of the box. AMD drivers on the other hand work out of the box and the open source driver is actually really good. Try making brightness work in NVIDIA and then let's see you say it "works" out of the box as well. Sick and tired of people shitting on AMD when it's damn well known that it supports Linux a lot damn better than NVIDIA. Try putting Arch Linux working with Nvidia. Ffs.
