    My OS professor kept using these analogies for describing process lifetimes. It was funny for a bunch of childless 22-year-olds, but for me a husband and father then at 31-years-old, it made me seriously re-evaluate my life choices.

    Looks like every kernel is a simulated universe with conscious processes, just like our universe is allegedly simulated.

    Moral : Our universe is somebody's kernel and that somebody is randomly using sigkill and sigterm on us

    @witek I suppose genocide is kind of humane, too? Because it kills everyone's relatives as well? There's just nobody left to be sad.
