Why has Google implemented those stupid menu bar buttons across the bottom of their apps. Isn't the YouTube app over jammed already. With most android phones using on screen buttons, you have to reach your thumb over the bezel, nav buttons and menu bar just to make a scroll motion for your content. I've sent Google feedback multiple times to of course (typical Google) to no avail. Let iOS have lower third menu buttons. We don't all have an S8, which as I see it is the only way this is alleviated.

@noodlemaster yeah. Its just the fact that Google implements it when they know the parameters of using and designing and influencing Android phones.

@Linux ok. I purposely don't have the latest version just to keep them up top... Where they belong.

Nvm just updated and got that crap on the bottom

I personally don't mind the buttons but it'd be great if we can move from one tab to the other using swipe.

@Linux not sure who would want such a poor, needless change.

@boss well, I'm definitely for swipes as well. Its sort of a staple for Android, as opposed to the need for taps on iOS. Also, like I said the YT app has become very cluttered in recent months, so why take away swipes, it's not like it would break usability or further mangle it. Dumb moves. Just wish I had ways of reaching Google that might truly be effective.

Google does that all the time

Typical PM, PO or Backender decision to 'just' add another option. Or alternatively the UI gave up putting up with shit and said do what you god damn well please as you won't listen to me.

This is the next step for the UX for the nav bar/action bar. With bigger phones, it gets harder to reach the top like iPhones have right now. Even apple is changing some of their apps to follow this

I hate it if Google changes their beautiful Material Design concept.
