Everyone in the class on the first day of college "I like programming, Java, C,C++". They don't even know that JavaScript and Java are different. Now I have to work with them on projects for 2 years. ๐Ÿ˜ญ
P.S. First Rant!

@kaus33k the worst thing is that when I asked them why they selected computer engineering they are like we can get jobs easily! ๐Ÿ˜’
No one is actually interested in learning.

@harshil1712 when I ask my friends (who have no intrest in IT) that why they choose IT...they are like -- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IS A TREND AND THEY ARE FLOWING WITH TREND.....
And I reply -- suicide too is trend. Why don't you go and hang yourself??

@kaus33k Damn that escalated quickly! But it's accurate.

    Mmh yeah...
Atleast you can get opinions from them, that are probably around same level as your typical end user :p

No worries they will learn the difference pretty soon... They are different but both have one common thing

"oh no, my classmates in beginning computer science don't already know computer science!"

... Not sure I see the problem, here. They're in literally the best place to fix the thing you're complaining about.

@starless I think he means they're acting like they know shit, but don't actually know shit.

C++ and Java are typically considered advanced (advanced as in not a basic language that is the first thing you learn) languages, so if you claim to know them fluently, you should know that JS and Java are not the same. That's basic stuff.
