Why do people like or even use Discord?

It is the same people behind OpenFeint and Discord - which has some lawsuits against it because the app installed shit on mobile phones without users consents

Because it's free and convenient for gaming parties?

@juzles yup! And it integrates with Patreon so that some of the content creators I follow can have a supporter only chat for a reward.

Also, as far as I can tell, only the founder is involved in both projects. Discord has not been anywhere near as cancerous

    1. Opus Codec (Voice Quality)
    2. Slack Clone Interface
    3. Gaming Integrations.

I use it for work all the time, love both the desktop and mobile app. Works great.

*Not DDOS Protected as they say. Teamspeak can be a better alternative but the interface is not nearly as nice.
