A moment of respect to people who willingly spend time to help out other people on sites such as StackOverflow

@Letmecode it becomes an addiction where the side effect is being a helpful aid and an unnecessary deterrent at the same time

@Letmecode what's the point of doing it for reputation? I've only ever done it to help others and myself, and to pass the time.

FWIW I haven't been really active on Stack Overflow in years, since I stopped programming for a few years and only got back to it earlier this year, but I'm still a top 2%.

Yea I also might answer something when I come across a question I know the solution for accidentally, other than that I use it as an absolute last restort since chances are there that people will poop all over my beautiful face because they missread the question.

I don't know why but when people on SO are dicks and it actually gets to me for some reason.

Thanks. I do it because it's fun to contribute, seeing your reputation grow is part of that fun. But the best feeling is when someone solves their problem because of your help. Gives me a warm feeling inside ☺️

@japsel they are helpful when your question is well written, understandable, says what you have tried, maybe state your options, etc
