If the company advertises itself as a family environment, RUN. I know no family's perfect, or how functional yours is- but remember that with any family there's a high risk of drama and bullshit.

Anyone who is more happy to tell you about the working environment/people than your perspective salary is a red flag...

It usually means they're too used to saying "the pays not great but it's a great working environment".
