My hard drive died last night.
Sounds like an excuse to try Linux again as my main computer (stopped in the past due to needs for excel and "league of legends".

Anyone else here use excel frequently and have been happy with a Linux alternative ?

    I could not do it.

    I would miss VBA far too much.

    @Artemix @dontPanic

    How much do formulas transfer? Especially vlookups, match, etc?

    You are not crying so i suppose you have a backup. ;-)

    However Libreoffice.

    @shelladdicted no backups,

    But I'm not crying cause software is easy to install, and all "documents" are stored in the cloud as well. =)

    @Artemix Same here! Even the 'programming' syntax nearly works the same (at my last internship I had to write some excel scripts and the guy who was gonna use it could run it in MS Excel without any issues right away!)

    @dontPanic I find them equal in features but as long as wps office stays closed source I won't use it :)

    @linuxxx Could you elaborate why it's important that it would be OpenSource? If its about being paranoid that they steal your tables/documents, theres always different dumps you can do to check if theres anything and if there is something suspicious, just block it.

    I would suggest WPS too, since its much more on the office level than libreoffice imo.

    Use linux. Fire up a WM with windows and msoffice when you need excel.
