If you're experienced arch otherwise I would choose Ubuntu.

If experienced, install arch or Manjaro or Antergos(both are arch based, with a decent installer).
About Nobuntu, let's just noubuntu? No no no no no no buntu. Although, it is fine if you go with it, it is decently bloated with large community to help.

Linux mint, solus or KDE neon are all very nice distro's, dont choose Ubuntu.

I've recently done excatly that. I used to run Win10, switched to Arch because I like power, and now virtualize Win10 for Office.

@badsector why not? I've been using it on my laptop for 5 years now and I rely on it daily. It's still the original installation too.

Antergos? Easy to setup and quite user-friendly imo.

@Kryptic0 I need to be able to use the advanced features of a proper program, while also collaborating on documents in (close to) real time.

@badsector user error does not make it a bad distro. It won't hold your hand like Ubuntu but it gives you complete control. Excuse the corny quote but with great power comes great responsibility.

@Zennoe but did you check the arch homepage before updating? 100% of the time they put up notifications if there are conflicts so if you don't check it before updating then it's user error.
