Just had a thought. The Twitter app does not use Twemoji.
"Hey, let's redraw all emojis but not use them"

Also, @dfox it would be awesome if you added a setting to use Twemoji instead. I love how they look and their js API is rly simple.

Why would you need a js api for emoji? That makes no sense to me. All you need for emoji is a font.

@configurator not necessarily. The newer versions of Unicode emoji allocation for modifiers by placing emojis next to each other essentially. Twemoji parses these and converts them to SVG files.

@Dacexi that can, and should, still be done with a font. In technical term it's called contextual alternatives, though it can also be implemented using font ligatures which are a bit simpler.

@configurator true. As long as it works and has pretty emojis I'm happy :)

@configurator This went deep. Are you font creator or some sort of worked into it??

@github no, I just like it when things are done right.
