So, I'm going to switch from Windows 10 soon. Yay :)
So, which distribution do you think would be good for me. I'd like a nice one with a good desktop environment that is good to program on.

I'd say either Mint or Fedora!

Elementary OS. I just switched almost a month ago and it is really stable, clean and good looking. It's based on Ubuntu btw.

    WSL!!

Jk, I used Arch w/ kde, but whatever you like!

I heard that if you are brave Gentoo can be quite something!

If you want the bleeding edge, go for Antergos, do keep in mind things may break after an update. If you want a stable platform, both Debian or Ubuntu works well.

    You and everyone else.

    Try elementary.io

You want to code? I use i3wm (on arch). I3 is a stable and small tiling window manager. It is very fast and you don't need a mouse. Every action is on your fingertips.

@PrivateGER sad to hear. I love programming on it.

Kubuntu. User friendly for a first time user (trust me that's important) and the GUI is pretty slick and smooth. Not gonna run as quickly as Mint, but faster than any Windows imo

@inukinator I heard you're the bravest man alive, you will use linux from scratch

    Btw, ++ for arch

    You just had to ask...
    Everyone has a different opinion.

I think that dos 3.1 is the best for you.

The best way is to just try stuff.
Take all the suggestions and install a different one every month, and log your experiences with it.
After a year you have had 12 experiences and you'll know which one you liked best

I like openSuSE if it needs to be stable or Arch Linux with XFCE if it doesn't.

    I guess I'll try Elementary.

What the fuck why does Elementary not have a minimize button

@PrivateGER And no desktop icons as far as I remember. I used it for a few months thought and it has one of the best UI's. The closest one to MacOS I believe.

@boyski33 OK, I'll guess I'll have to get to know it better.
