Does anyone else keeps hibernating his Win-Machine instead of actually powering it down?

    I hibernate everytime.

    Sleep...
    Hibernate takes too long and uses too much disk space. Even with a fast SSD and VMware gets grumpy when waking up from hibernation vs. sleep.
    VMware+Linux for main development.
    Windows for MSSQL and C# development.

    I just have it set to turn off the display and leave it running 24/7. It backs up at night.

    Hibernate during the week. Power off at the weekend

    My work machine is a laptop with a docking station, and it is set to hibernate on close. That means at the end of the day I just undock and go. Then when I redock the next day everything is where I left it!

    Of course, I still like to do a full shutdown / restart every now and again.... Because Windows...

    it's a shame they are hiding hibernation deactivated somewhere in the settings on win8+, if so many people are using it...

    I shutdown my Mac, but I've scheduled it to turn on every morning, so it's ready for work.

    Not since I started using SSDs. I just shut down now and I'm back up in less than a minute:-D
