You could buy any decent router on the market and configure it to use PPPOE to authenticate. ATT has a tool to regenerate a password for your router.

I don't know what type of budget you're looking at but I would suggest ubiquity UniFi hardware. Since you are running a home server anyway you could run the UniFi controller software on there so you don't have to buy a cloud key. -
If your annoyance is with the software I can recommend flashing OpenWrt or similar if it's supported for your router.
You'll have absolutely full control over every single piece of network hardware in there once you've set it up and installed their 'luci' web interface (or just over ssh).
For the same reason you should bring a bit of networking knowledge though.

Fuck ATT, Fuck their company, Fuck their router, Fuck everything they stand for. I just spent 3 hours trying to solve an issue with their fucking router and my bonded nic setup on my home server. I still don't have it completely setup correctly. I just want to murder them at this point. I really need to build my own fucking router at this point. It would end up being so much easier.
