    I used to work in Adobe support. They get millions of complaints that their “Adobe” doesn’t work and they eventually gave up and renamed it from “Adobe Acrobat Reader” to “Adobe Reader.”

    This looks like the next step in that evolution.

    There are probably loads of tools to remove PDF passwords available.

    @osmarks I tried qpdf --decrypt - It failed and I couldn't be bothered to faff around with it so I just went with the online ebook viewer instead of downloading it

    The thing about it is in Acrobat (Err... Reader) it doesn't ask for any password... So much for the P in PDF...

    So I don't understand what you mean for "So much for the P". The document is still portable?

    @kwilliams It opens just fine in Reader, but not in other PDF viewers
