Last year I applied for a similar position to that I have now (Front-end Dev), but with a higher salary and less responsibility.

The interview went fairly well I thought, but I was also given a short written exam, where I was supposed to point out errors in the code provided. I'm certain I got everything right but I took too long (about 20 minutes for 20 questions) and they got inpatient pressing me several times.

My excuse was that I haven't used a pen in about 3 years. My hand didn't know what was happening! Who even writes anything anymore nowadays?!

Doesn't help that, like many other devs and creative types, I'm dyslexic.

If only they saw the benefits of posting the exam online for applicants to do before being invited for an interview, then I may be ranting from a different office today.

@beningreenjam Or at least bring a laptop to the interview, if they want to see how you perform.

That said, I have started to use pencil and paper again. It's frustrating to begin with, but once you get use to it it's a nice tool for doodling ideas and flowcharts. The battery time is amazing.

It's more for the fact that I like to digitise my work, knowing that it's automatically saved to the magical cloud and can more easily overwrite, restyle and undo anything.

A few months ago I bought myself an iPad Pro with the pencil so now I have the best of both worlds.
