My Friend: Dude our Linux Server is not working anymore!
Me: What? What did you do?
My friend: Nothing I swear!
Me: But you were last on it?
My friend: Yes. I just wanted to run a bash file and needed to give it permissions.
Me : WHAT DID YOU ENTER???!
My Friend: Chill man, just this command I found on the internet
chmod -R 600 /
chown -R root:root /
Me: WHY ARE YOU EVEN IN ROOT AND GOD DAMMIT WHY ARE YOU EVEN USING SOME RANDOM COMMAND FROM THE INTERNET. YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS OR JUST ASK!
My friend: Ok I did something wrong, how can I fix it?
Me: Did you make a backup or rsync of the server?
My friend: No. I just wanted to run this file.
Me: You holocausted the server. FUCK MY LIFE35 -
Sooo my friend asked my to become more active on steam and i did something about it! I'm going to be become the most activities steam user!31

[ME]: Hello, this is the NSA right?
[NSA]: Yes
[ME]: Since you are recording all phone calls, I have a little request.
[NSA]: And What is that?
[ME]: My mom called me couple hours ago to bring something from the supermarket, her phone is off.. What did she told me to bring?
[NSA]: beep..beep..beep10 -
Sometime I’m developing in Rust and I do something wrong.
Then I look at the terminal and it says...
“You did X, did you mean to do Y”
Then I do it and it works perfectly, and I’m like...
Why do I even have a job if the compiler is this good?10 -
// family tech support
Dad: *clicks something*
Dad: *something strange happens*
Dad: Hey son, come over here. What happened?
Son: Hm.. what did u click?
Dad: I don't know. Aren't you supposed to know that? You're our computer genius.7 -
My first post on devRant. Hope you like it (is a true story)
User : Hey, can you help me with this thumbdrive? Cannot open it
Me: Sure, let me see...
At this time I noticed that the drive was leaking something and smells funny also...
Me: Did you dropped it into water or something liquid?
User: Ehmm. Yes! Washed it with bleach!
Me: But why?
User : Oh! because of viruses.8 -
When linux crashes : "OK, maybe i did a mistake, the program i made was bad or something like that"
When windows crashes : "THE FUCK THIS OS IS BULLSHIT !"9 -
"So what got you in to development and programming?"
Me: well. I needed something to new to help with my depression, stress and anger.
"Oh cool. Did it help?"
Me: yes... They're so much stronger now.4 -
Manager: Why did you clear the data from the database? The client is now specifically requesting it and we don’t have it anymore!
Dev: You told me to.
Manager: Well why did you listen? It’s obvious now that that data was very important and should have been kept!
Dev: Last time you told me to do something that wasn’t a good idea I tried to explain why and told me not to question you ever again and that doing so was “disrespectful” and then threatened to have me fired. So now I just go along with what you say and let you suffer the consequences of not listening.
Manager: Well don’t do that then! It’s obviously not working very well! It’s ok to disagree with me you just have to make sure that what you think is something I agree with!
Dev: …11 -
Finally got around to installing Arch on an actual machine 😀
I went for deepin since i wanted to try something new. I didn't go for any WMs since the whole concept seems complicated to me but i wanna look into it someday.
Anyways, super happy so far. I boot in < 5s from hitting the power button which is super dope ♥️ ♥️. I did have some weirdness with nvidia drivers (as usual on linux lol) but reinstalling it fixed it.40 -
https://google.com”f people near me wanted to show me something.
Person: Check out this zero-day exploit! I hacked into the system using a cloud-based cryptographically secure MD5 hash finite automata firewall HTML code API!
Me: Erm...what exactly did you hack?
Person: *shows screen while smirking*
It was a shell simulator website running “ping https://google.com”7 -
Wrote JavaScript today and it didn't work in chrome and Firefox but it worked fine in IE...I instantly knew I did something wrong.5

Boss: Don't be afraid to break things
Me: *breaks things*
Boss: Why did you break things?
Me: ...
I tried something new. Otherwise, I am hitting a wall. -
Just took apart my laptop to dust it out from the inside. Had it back together, put the battery in. "Alright, time to make sure I didn't break something"
Beep....beep beep beep....beep beep beep....beep
"FUCK I FUCKING BROKE SOMETHING WHAT DID I BREAK?"
Google Lenovo post codes (Thinkpad laptop). DIMM issue.
"Oh fuck I forgot to put the RAM back in.."
Perfect now7 -
Needed to download all my music from Google music, their download manager is crap (on ubuntu)
Decided to use their API, found a gem that works perfectly. Started downloading it.
Told my GF how I wanted to code something cool but gound someone else did, her response:
So why doesn't google make something ?
Me:They did, but it sucks in linux, and they have their API's which work fine.
And how are normal people supposed to make it work then?
Me: well it works, jut have to install this and run the CLI with.... wait.. am I not normal?
I guess we are not normal in the eyes of some people.18 -
Imagine being me, an intern at Google and having to work with Google Drive on something with a deadline in five hours.
You have three guesses - when did all Google servers go down in Central Europe? Yeah. I missed my deadline.7 -
– “It doesn’t work. I don’t know how to run this.”
– “Ok, did you install the Python interpreter?”
– “No, what’s that?”
– “You have to download it from www.python.org. Get the 2.7 version.”
– “Yeah, it’s ok. I’ll just use something else.”9 -
2019 resolutions/goals recap: (non-personal ones)
1) Improve diet (did; e.g. ramen and fast food to clean keto)
2) Lose weight (did; lost 24 pounds!)
3) Find a good job (did, twice)
4) Buy a harp (did not; large and expensive, no place to put it, and I have small children who would absolutely break it)
5) Keep house clean, even if it's by myself (did, somewhat; I cleaned some, managed to get one other person to clean semi-regularly, and another sporadically)
6) Work on social awkwardness (did; read and applied Dale Carnegie's The Art of Public Speaking, which netted me my last job offer. Still pretty awkward though)
7) Move out of the desert (did not; not enough money, and job didn't allow remote work)
8) Stop bloody waiting on people (did not; still very guilty of this...)
I don't remember the rest 🙁 didn't write them down last year. But I still accomplished 5 out of the 8 I remembered, with one being a pass, so 5/7!
-----
2020 resolutions/goals:
1) Finally move out of the desert
2) Invest 20% of my income every month
3) Reduce bills by 20%
4) Solve/address some health issues
5) Make a schedule so things regularly get done around the house, e.g. cleaning
6) Find some friends and make time for them
7) Replace Debian with something else
8) Revamp my backup system
9) Be proactive and stop waiting on people
10) Build a (stationary) coil gun for fun18 -
Step 1: Create and deploy feature. Get feedback: It works fine!
A year passes...
Step 2: Add another small feature that is completely independent from previous feature.
Step 3: Notice that feature #1 is broken.
Why the HELL did it stop working?!? I didn't change anything related to that feature. I can't explain that!
Step 4: Examine bug and find out something unknown about the technology used in feature #1.
Why the HELL did that ever work in the first place?!?
Step 5: Get time to fix it. Don't get time to find out why it worked for a year...
The problem is solved, the mystery remains...5 -
I did it! I told her. I admitted that I have a crush on her. It was awesome, we were in her room, chilling and having Belgian beer and looking over at the beautiful dome of Les Invalids and the lights of Paris through her window. It was raining a little bit. All perfect.
I told her how I really enjoyed her company and how I found her really cool and interesting and how I had a not so small crush on her. She was very surprised but she was glad I told her. I'm really proud that I did something so big.
Oh, she said no btw.30 -
I'M AN IDIOT.
I accidentally typed the wrong command when I was compiling my C++ code with GCC, and guess what?
My .cpp file is gone. The .exe is still there, but that's useless to me right now.
It wasn't an important code, just something I recently started on, but I can't believe I did something so ignorant.18 -
When I managed to minimize the processing time of the project I'm currently handling. It went down from 30min-1hr to 7min-15mins. The project owner was so happy, said it made his life easier. I was told I did a good job by my manager.
I feel like a real dev then and there. So whenever I'm having a bad day, feeling insecure, I try to remember that day when I was able to do something right. :) -
Having lunch with a new colleague, I asked him what did he program. Afterall he has over a decade under his belt.
"Websites."
"Oh cool but what does it do?"
He answered after a pause, "I click something and something pops up."
"The food is nice here.", I gave up.3 -
Just had chat with Microsoft support to solve a issue. I accepted remote session request. She did something and couldn't find proper a solution to my problem. Finally, she told a temporary solution and quit the chat.
When I was about to give feedback that she wasn't helpful, SHE CLOSED FEEDBACK WINDOW and then ended remote session. Lmao4 -
Yay my stickers finally arrived! Thanks guys <3 @dfox @trogus
And it freaked out my mum. She called me all panicked like "you've got an international letter what did you do did you get scammed or something"
...
"Mum, those are stickers...I got for free"
"Ohhhh... ok then"
But shre was very worried there ^^'19 -
Every time I post a question to SO I feel so anxious.
Did I provide enough code samples and information?
Did I provide TOO MUCH information?
Is my English alright?
Did I really try everything else or will someone point out something totally obvious after that I feel that I need to delete my post because it's just dumb?
Feeling anxious right now... Worst of all: it's an important work related question, so I have to think about a new task because this issue was my only one and a road blocker.
AAAARRGGHHH!12 -
What the fuck is this. I swear every time I look at this codebase I find something more stupid than I did last time.
I can't wait to throw the whole legacy system away.13 -
Manager: How’s the progress coming along?
Dev: The section of code I’m working with is one of the more difficult ones so it’s a little slow
Manager: Ok well I didn’t write that section of the code
Dev: I’m not saying you did I’m just giving you the status update that you asked for
Manager: Ok well I can’t really do anything about that so how about you tell me something I can do something about instead of just complaining about code THAT I DIDN’T EVEN WRITE!! *Marks self as offline*
Dev: …10 -
I work for a "Visionary" in our org. Motherfucker will use something for five minutes and decided it's the new-hot, and off we go chasing it.
"I did a Python + AWS tutorial last night, I get it. We need to start migrating everything to Lambda today."
A week later he hits his first error message that needs more than five minutes of work to solve and we're moving to a local Haskell stack.4 -
At university. But at first I thought I was too stupid because everyone in my class sounded like they started hacking the NSA at age 3, and I hadn't even opened a command line. Even had a proffessor tell me if I didn't ace his OOP class, I should quit (I failed, did good the second time though). Moral of the story is: fuck him, and anyone who tells you that you can't do something.4

Did anyone feel like IT is the thing in college not a lot of people really cared about?
Friend 1: "im going for chem engineering"
Everyone: *applaudes*
Friend 2: "im going for medicine"
Everyone: *applaudes*
Me: "im going for IT!"
Everyone: "uh, what about you Friend 4? What did you take?"
...
And i dont just mean it socially, the university doesnt pay much attention to us until they need something fixed or needs us to make something more convinient for them.12 -
How the fuck can this happen?
It might be a malware. I did not do a scan yet, but I guess that it has to do with Google Chrome itself.
I think that a pop up once appeared and ever since I get these windows alerts every 1 hour or something like that.12 -
Rather than singling out one person, I wanna present what I see as incompetent/stupid/ignorant:
- no will to learn
- failure to follow the very specific instructions & later asking for help when they FUBR sth & not even knowing what they did to fuck up in the first place
- asking how to solve stuff, then ignoring the suggestions & doing sth totally against recommendations
- failure to remember most basic stuff, especially if not writing it down to look at later when needed
- failure to check logs & 'google' stuff before asking why something isn't working the way they want it
- after two weeks, asking me how feature xy works, mind you they coded it, not me
- asking me why they did something in a specific way - WTF, am I a mind reader?! Who designed that crap?! Me or you?!!
- being passive/aggressive & snarky when told to do something or being asked why isn't it done already
- not testing their shit properly
- not making backups when upgrading (production) servers
- not checking the input value, no validation.. even after many many debacles on production with null ref exceptions
- failure to admit they fucked up
- not learning from (their) mistakes8 -
I'm working on a programming language with a "bytecode" interpreter and a compiler that translates source code to said bytecode and... it sort of actually works!
I want to recreate an Erlang-style environment, currently you can write functions, call C++ functions via wrappers, have immutable-only values, and it has no explicit control structure apart from statement sequencing and the if-expression because I want to make it as functional as possible. Next thing on the list is to add a green threads implementation and ability to spawn and send messages to processes.
Still a WIP and heck even design-in-progress.
Now for the rant:
I'm using CMake for building C++ (interpreter) and Stack for Haskell (compiler) and I've been trying to get them to talk to each other for hours because I want CMake to manage the Stack build too and shove all the executables into one place. CMake documentation is weird and Stack isn't too helpful either, so I guess I'll just spend another few hours trying to get Stack to fuckin reveal its build directory to CMake and/or build to a given directory. Ugh.8 -
5 years ago i was working on a 2D game using C and we needed to use the sleep function (I forgot why ) .but however one of my team member did something new , for each second he did an empty for loop from 0 to 1000000 .You never know maybe that's how it's implemented (sarcasm)1

When i lost in a competition with a super project against a person that did something that would take 5h of coding.
I codod a compiler, he made a sudoku solver2 -
The first paid work I did was to write a program to calculate something mathematicaly for a senior. And my payment was a cup of tea and cigratte

Just wanted to let you guys know that I did something awesome.
I am awesome, so are you guys. Keep being awesome!4 -
I absolutely hate when people name local variables something like temp or tmp. I was working on a project with a guy who did this with almost every local variable and it was really confusing to have like 7 variables with the same name in the same class.
Please use informative names!7 -
When I Install An NPM Package .........

6.Rechecked still 27%
7.Watched a little while the progress bar until I saw the Fatality.

Just ordered Pizza. You get 10% off when ordering via their own website, so I did. They calculated the new price on their site, sent it to PayPal and PayPal did another 10% off...
How's something like that in production?5 -
sometimes in my head i go through code i wrote some time ago and think: "did i think of this case? if that happens something could go very wrong." when i look at the code i see that i already thought about it and catched the case back then. then i am like "daaaamn i am good".
do you know that feel? :D1 -
Did anyone else find Javascript fun and easy to learn?
Or am I doing something wrong?
Just curious.11 -
I have never doubted my abilities more, before this happened:
I got a Linux VM on Azure, downloaded apache httpd source which I proceeded to configure, make and install.
As expected, install failed with something related to apr and apr-util.
Searched several mailing lists, tried out several configure options, nothing worked..
After almost an hour, it stuck to me, all I had to do was "sudo yum install httpd" !!!
Disappointed that I missed something so simple, but when I did that, it came back with 'Nothing to do'...
Realized, httpd was pre-installed in that VM.. I just had to start the service !!!
:facepalm1 -
Nowhere near my worst co-worker, but still funny.
The Dev team were all in a separate glass walled room with the business & support staff out in a bigger room outside. As is our wont, we wore headphones while working a lot.
One of the non technical folks asked me why and I said it helps me focus by keeping out distracting noises.
"Oh, I thought you were listening to code or something"
😮
It was kind of an eye-opener as to how little clue a person sitting just 4 meters away had of what I did or how I did it. And actually it helped explain some confusing interactions...4 -
Frack..people suck.
In sprint planning meeting, prioritizing the tasks...
ScrumMaster: "Next item, create a spreadsheet that identifies the systems used by order processing so the PO can identify errors by system."
Me: "That's already done."
ScrumMaster: "Did you work ahead of the sprint again?"
- Really trying not to throw something heavy at his head.
Me: "No, you did back in January."
- SM stutters..um..uhhs...
ScrumMaster: "No, I never did that...see."
- SM navigates to the sharepoint directory
Me: "Yep, there it is."
ScrumMaster: "I didn't create it, you must have."
Me: "Created by...you."
ScrumMaster: "Uh...um....I might have added it to sharepoint, but doesn't mean I created it. Anyway, lets take a look..."
- opens the spreadsheet
ScrumMaster: "What is this? Did you simply export the sharepoint list to excel?"
- Getting harder and harder to resist the urge to throw something heavy at his head.
Me: "I don't know what that is, you created it. You commented on the Trello card that this task item was done."
ScrumMaster: "No, I've never seen this or made any comment on the Trello board...lets look ..."
- FRACK!!! TRELLO IS DOWN!!!
ScrumMaster: "When Trello comes back up I'll assign the card to you. Lets stay on task with the cards from now on. Next item ... "
Trello up, 3 hours later, back at my desk, there is his fracking comment from January about uploading the spreadsheet to sharepoint. Frack frack frack people suck3 -
Life Before the Computer
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity
A keyboard was a piano!
Memory was something that you lost with age
A CD was a bank account
And if you had a 3-inch floppy
You hoped nobody found out!
Compress was something you did to garbage
Not something you did to a file
And if you unzipped anything in public
You'd be in jail for awhile!
Log on was adding wood to a fire
Hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived
And a backup happened to your commode!
Cut - you did with a pocket knife
Paste you did with glue
A web was a spider's home
And a virus was the flu!
I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper
And the memory in my head
I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash
But when it happens they wish they were dead!3 -
I saw a quote maybe 2 weeks after I signed up in this Heaven, I can't (read "I'm too lazy to") find the quote but some guy was lowkey panicking about the fact that all his friends were "currently building X, almost finishing to dev Y", while all he ever did was a small project like "yeeey, I can do something with my 10 fingers"
This rant was interesting, but the top comment kind of marked me, if I remember well, it said something like "All I read is 'doing' and 'almost finished', while you 'did'. I would trust you over these guys".
From this day, while I worked on two side projects, there was always a moment where I thought about this sentence.
Today, I finished one of my side projects. I DID it.
Dang it I feel complete.3 -
It definitely helps to not be proud, especially to talk to people.
I was about to refactor something someone did, without understanding their intentions and because I thought it was incorrect.
Thank God I got off my high horse to talk to them first!
If you are shy or bad at approaching people (like me), just force yourself and try.. You will eventually learn to be less hesitant.1 -
Time to rant about JavaScript tutorials.
If you don't know the 'jQuery basic arithmetic' joke, Google it now. It'll make you laugh, promised.
In that manner i just remembered a JavaScript tutorial my fiancee tried to follow when she did an internship at the company i work for last year.
She was tasked to create a temperature interface for our server rack, which she wanted to do via an Arduino and a webserver aswell as an SQL database.
The Arduino part wasn't really a problem, but since she had no experience with js she very closely clinged to a chart visualisation tutorial.
All of that worked very well, but beeing the person i am i looked at the code and found something off.
The chart library had no dependencies to external libraries or any local files for any of them. Though the tutorial used a jQuery import.
So why did it use jQuery?
Well...
To load the chart initialization after the page has loaded.
So they pulled the entirety of jQuery in just to do what fucking window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',function(){...}); could have done.
I wonder how many people who just want something to work did this shit. I hate it that so many tutorials do not adhere any kinds of standards, override behavior because they don't like it, even though it may have a very good reason to exist, pull entire libraries in for something vanilla <language> can do in 3 lines, etc.
Fuck.7 -
Today i implemented something of such a complexity that the part of my brain i am in could not follow it.
(Really guys. I did not know what i was doing. I only knew i had to do it exact this way)
This feeling when you are in a tunnel and unstoppable. I even documented what i did.
Sadly i do not even understand my thoughts there xD
I wrote about three hours straight and then run a test. And the only mistake was a variable not filled as described. Used another one and it run smoothly as hell.
Today i will drink a beer on whatever part of me did this. Cheers6 -
Today something amazingly incredible happened, I met a nice guy on stackoverflow, he even asked me if he could edit my question to make it better, and did not reproach me for asking a RTFM question.5

This female collegue whom I used to hangout during tea and lunch has suddenly started hanging out with another female collegue.
I'm alone, sad and overthinking is killing me. I asked her if there is something I said or did that made her hang out with someone else.
She said it's not a big deal and I should stop creating drama. I think I lost my self-respect while facing her about this.27 -
I hate all of the people that think "agile" means "do everything at the same time, with no cost". Or, other fuckwits, think that "agile" means "fuck plans, dev team will figure something out".
Both of these types apparently did not read any publication about the subject.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!8 -
Arch Linux is so overrated. Just a little while ago I did pacman -Syu and dhcpcd broke. Bleeding edge is all fine with me, but at least MAINTAIN THE FUCKING DISTRO PROPERLY!!!
Well, guess I'll have to redeploy that LXC with a different OS then. Probably Ubuntu Server or something like that.14 -
There was this uni project where the teacher gave us a project to work as a team (the entire class, 17 people). We were meant to use Scrum, and deliver the first release in 1 week.
Turns out no one except me did the work, and this went on in the upcoming sprints, even with me telling the teacher what was going on.
Then, one day, a girl (let's call her Rose) did a commit to git, and I thought that something as going to change...She committed and push a new line at the end of a file.
After 2 months, the project was done. I had done 4k+ lines of Java EE + Hibernate + JSP code (which was very difficult to me) and the grading came out. I got a 7... most of the rest of the class got an 8 or 9. They did nothing.
When questioned by me, teacher said (it was a group project...)
TL;DR: I did the work of 17 people in a university project, got the worst grade of them all.12 -
I am laughing and crying at the same time.
I did a high value transaction with Google Pay, and now I cannot see the transaction details in history for this specific transaction (The money was transferred correctly though). When I open the history entry, it says "Something went wrong, please try again".
So after waiting for a week, I went to report a bug with Google from within the app. And when I press submit, I get an error.
Wanna guess what's the error?
ITS FUCKING "SOMETHING WENT WRONG, PLEASE TRY AGAIN"!4 -
Explicit!
Okay so someone asked me to explain difference between an iPad & PC & i did it something like this:
If you provide a kid with a condom and a balloon, which would he value more?
Now give the same set to a mature adult, which would he value more?
We know which one serves the greater purpose right? 😝9 -
LinkedIn posts be like:
"Have a #challenging #look at my #innovative #carrer_moment! I did #something at my #new_company!
Look at this #picture of my #awesome #new_workplace! I am #glad of being here at #company!"
(#opentowork, #looking_for_opportunities, #recruiters_welcome)3 -
All I'm wondering is how did @dfox manage to keep this avatar feature a secret while it was in the works? If I was in the process of coding something so elegant, I'd be telling people left and right! Bravo!4

User: "Why isn't this process updated? There's something wrong with your system."
Me: "Did you submit the request?"
User: "Uh yeah I'm sure I did..."
Me: "Go submit the request again." (they never did the first time)
User: "I don't know how. Will you show me?" *shows user how to do it* "Ok I did it now."
Me: "You did it wrong, you need to resubmit it."
User: "Ok I resubmitted it."
* a week later *
User: "The process still hasn't shown any progress."
Me: "You didn't resubmit it like you said you did."
User: "Will you show me how to do it again?"
* fuck me *
Me: "Sure..."
Process works as expected and everyone lives happily ever after, except the developer that knows it is just a matter of time till the next user blatantly lies, has no respect for anyone's time, and demonstrates a complete lack of desire to care about their job at all and just wants to bitch and complain like a typical lazy ass-hat.6 -
GitLab CE crashed after doing a reconfigure, something with the LetsEncrypt client. Hours of debugging later it suddenly works again and the letsencrypt client doesn't throw errors either.
Happy that it works again but I'd like to know WHY it suddenly works again after I pretty much changed nothing (or, I did, but I put everything back to the original values every time a suggestion doesn't work).
Grrrrrrr.2 -
So I had to implement something which I didn't know as a part of my internship. What do you think I did?
15 hours worth video lectures in two days :x3 -
Do you ever look back at something you built a while ago and think "oh hey, that's cool.... how the hell did I do that"?!5
-
The ammount of digging I have to do in order to fix something or building the mindset to do something i don't want to.
I have a mental block regarding people telling me what to do. I consider myself a pretty chill dude, but when someone says "do this" my mind automatically goes into "oh fuck that" mode.
I hate being this way, wish I could just switch that shit off and work on what i am told and be done with it.
I can spend all weekend fucking around with php. But the moment someone tells me to do something at work with it I start dreading it
This applies to damn near everything in life except for anything that has to do with my children.
My dad was neglectful as fuck, that itself makes me overly paranoid of making my children feel the same way I did growing up. Just wanted to throw that out.
It seems I did some progress today! Thanks Dr Devrant!
Dr Devrant: tell me about your father
Me: motherfucker sucks camel balls2 -
Why did I fall into the trap of rewriting shitty and extremely complex code to something nicer again? Fuck. Me.3
-
Got a new website i should maintain... Code is a real mess... Why did some kids do something - it breaks my heart^^
The directory hasnt any seperate folder except the img-folder - css, html and js are inside the root dir...7 -
Got some requests about changes in design some weeks ago. Did the most of what I can do, but something wasn't possible, so I told them that I cannot do what was requested.
They still ask me to do it.5 -
I rewrote something in clean 20 lines of code, while my coworker had worked hard and ended up with like 80-100 lines. I did not talk to him before I did it, but asked him to review what I did. I still had to learn how to properly work together..3
-
First rant (well, first on devRant anyway)! So, I'm working on a project to refactor a decade old codebase so that all references to ip addresses are in config. It sucks. But I did find an ascii art fish in an old cron script, so that's something.9

Damnit! I dropped a 16GB USB Drive on an open floor, and the thing has just vanished. It has my install files for CentOS 7 on it. It's like a mouse or something came out and snatched it and, poof, gone. Dobby, damnit, what did you do with my USB Drive?4

So I am assigned to a new team to take over the leading position because the guy who did it up till now quit. And there is this guy who today seriously shared his screen with my boss and the rest of the team to point out that I formatted something wrong...
Realy it was something like
super.doFunctionA().thenFunctionB() instead of putting it like
super
.functionA()
.functionB()
He said he wanted to call me out early to avoid spreading of this "wrong formatting"
He wants to start a war? This fuckhead can have it!
Soon I will be the one who writes his tasks... hf8 -
Did an app for my college.
Everyone liked the features in it.
But when it came to the money part, (I didn't ask the actual cost, I only asked then 10% of actual standard cost) they were like improve it more, do this do that ("for free").
I held onto "If you're good at something, don't do it for free".
Just wasted my time in developing that.2 -
Now a supporter! I have to confess I mostly did it for the dark theme:P nevertheless I owed this app a little something and now I feel betyer3

Not a C programmer. Recently I did some things in C again recently and now I finally figured out something that bothered me for nearly a decade now.
-Wall has nothing to do with walls. It enables all warnings.2 -
I'm feeling so lonely at work. No one is interested in talking to me. They talk only when they need something done.
I've been and I did my best being nice to everyone ☹️19 -
Everytime i see someone listing a shitload of languages, i safely assume that they speak around 2-3 of them fluently. I did some c++ and can write a site in php but they are nowhere near my java knowledge, so i only list them as something i played around with. There is just no way you are fluent in c++, java and javascript because they take half a lifetime to master individually7

- Hey, that envelope seems important, did you get a job on NY or something?
- Better, I got stickers!1 -
On any given morning, when I"m not quite sure what to tackle first.... there's always:
sudo apt update
Ahh, now I feel like I did something.
"dude! are you hacking!?"
shutup, haven't had coffee yet. -
Your guide to passive-aggressive false apologies:
- I’m sorry you’re so sensitive
- I’m sorry that you think I did something wrong
- I’m sorry if you’re mad
- I’m sorry that you made me do it
- I’m sorry you feel that way
And, my most favorite:
- I’m sorry that you’re making such a big deal out of this.12 -
How to make your employees feel like shit 101:
Continually praise a small group of people for doing something for a few days that someone else does as their full time job. Call what that team did "unlike anything else in the software development world"
I am soooo fucking pissed right now. You can guess what side of this I am on.5 -
This was when I was pursuing my bachelors degree. One of the professors was of the opinion that only her code was right and anything else is wrong! For example if she did something with a for loop and I did the same with a while loop, my answer would be wrong -_- What the hell -_-
(Also, often her code would be wrong too and sometimes wouldn't even compile.. She used Notepad btw)10 -
"OMG WE MISSED SOMETHING WE NEED AN EMAIL SENT TO EVERYONE IF X HAPPENS AND NOBODY DID A THING WITHIN AN HOUR!"
Ok done.
"OMG WE NEED IT SENT IF NOBODY DID A THING EVERY 30 MINUTES"
Um... not sure we're solving this problem right way ... but there you go done.
"OMG SOMEONE GOT AN EMAIL AFTER 45 MINUTES AND NOT 30 MINUTES"
Bro who the fuck knows why that happened, it's email not instant messenger .... that's what I meant by us solving this in the wrong way, email for this is dumb... how about we solve this process problem in some other way or you just fuck off ... this isn't a coding issue this is something else...4 -
Not gonna lie I have toxic people in my life and I have caught myself in multiple situations where I behaved differently, did or did not do something just because they were near.
Whenever these people are gone it’s just the most beautiful thing to be able to relax (also in my mind).
It’s crazy what other people do with us and how we can exaggerate all these feelings and emotions. The best thing I can do is to get rid of this toxicity in my life and move on.
Anybody else or is it just me?1 -
When I point out something you did wrong. I do not care about the things you did right in the past year.
You did something wrong and that needs to be fixed. I do not care about how hard you tried, I just need it to be right. I'm not attacking you as a person I'm complaining about the end result being not good enough.10 -
Real story :
There's this one colleague, who was a very good friend of mine. Always helped me in everything. That one friend in the team, who shares a lot of stuff with you.
And she suddenly, turns offensive when it comes to professional things and mainly competitive stuff in the team.
She becomes a completely different person when I get recognition for something in the team or when I become popular in the team.
She has that feeling that she should always stay in the lime light.
When I steal the show by doing something good, she starts to show faces.
Decided that it is a unhealthy friendship, as the friend i knew is no longer a friend when it comes into professional behavior at work,
And it started reflecting a lot in our personal friendship, outside work too.
Decided to cut the friendship and only be colleagues.
Did the same happen to someone else? Did you lose a friend because of things like this?4 -
Teammate : Eww, I don't like this part, any better ideas ? Something to add or remove ? Have you find something better ?
Me : What about you ? Did you find something ?
TM : ...
Me : You are free to do whatever you want but if you have no idea and don't do anything, STFU, you are just slowing the team down -
Whole class: makes an sql database using phpmyadmin. Simple, easy, meets the requirements
Me: fuck it. Use python with pyqt5. And Microsoft sql server Spend unnecessary hours on making repetitive functions, cause my stupid ass can't figure out how to pass more than one parameters in class methods.
All in all, it looks good. I feel like I did something, learnt something new. Took on a challenge. Its a wierdly good feeling, somewhat rewarding.5 -
Yesterday me and my friend started a project. I set a github repo and said him to "If you make something with code just commit the changes to github so I can see what you did". After a while he said "I've commited something". And I checked what he did. There was 3 commits and they were exactly like that;
Commit 1. Test
Commit 2. Test 2
Commit 3. I wrote something
Then I said "please explain what you did when you commit changes". And he said "why we just upload the codes to the cloud it's more easier".
Today project is ended. Uploading codes to the cloud...6 -
Well, this'll sound like my first rant but my boss did it again. working on implementing a new feature. but I got sick last week and took some time to recoup. well come into the office todat, tell him I'm going to finish it. he says okay. 3pm comes around and I go and ask him for some help on finishing it. he says "check out the repository, I already did it."
okay. I'm sick. you want it done. fine. that's cool. but you made me waste literally my entire workday doing something you knew was already completed? WTF?5 -

Great news, I just lost my email account's password. The password is in password manager but apparently, when I was changing it, I did something wrong. Now, neither the old one, nor the new one work and I can't login into my email. I didn't even change the password reset phone number to my new one! And I also forgot the recovery mailbox' password. Fucking great.
Here's the lesson: **ALWAYS** re-check your new password in your browser's private window.1 -
Being lazy taught me more about (code) automation that years of study ever did.
“Ugh! Updating translations is boring, why do I have to do this manually?”
“Damn I really hate having to remember endpoints”
“Oh, come on! Its the third time I initialise this the same way!”
I’d love to say this is a motivational speech or something but no, im just lazy lol2 -
Had to fill in the internship report for one of my interns...
He didn't look too happy after I handed it to him :^)

interview from the other side. A month ago I was looking for frontend dev for team I lead.
Now I believe that it was a nightmare for one guy, whos bio was full of js, angular and a little of php. Thought that he will be the man we were looking for.
Nope. I've started with classic (I suppouse) questions, like call and apply difference. Guy couldn't even manage to say a word. Went to bubbling, nothing. Ok sth easier, hoisting... Maybe at least you're minifying your code? donno what is. Ok so what you actually did from js? "I know jQuery, did something in this, and did full angular app to build forms, store and send them", but after question what Factory is he covered his face in hands, went still for about three minutes and probably would start to cry but we stopped this. I feel sorry for this guy, but he applied for senior frontend position.9 -
It's like a stab into your fucken heart when your coding competition entry gets rated "you did everything perfect! :) But it's not enough for the top 3. :(" with multiple minus points across different requirements bUT NO GOSH DARN EXPLANATION WHAT I DID WRONG. I PARTICIPATED TO TEST MYSELF AND LEARN SOMETHING, NOT GET PUNCHED IN THE FUCKEN FACE FOR NO REASON FFS MAN.

So I thought... Hey, why not bring my laptop running Ubuntu to school. It's faster than my Windows one, and I use it all the time at home.
Then I realized 99% of students will nag me about how I'm using a knock off version of Mac Os 😒
But if I did bring it, maybe I could FINALLY teach my computer science "teacher" something.3 -
Windows: restarting in 10 seconds
Me: probably just a bug or something like that *click OK button*
10 seconds later
Me: it's no a bug! IT'S NOT A BUG! let me save my stuff
(I don't now why windows did that it made some kind of update without warning except for the 10 seconds and then I had some problem s like I couldn't connect to a SQL server and the computer was super slow)6 -

Do you ever forget to commit something at home and then rewrite the entire change on the go, purely because you lack the patience?
I just did, and writing code with full knowledge of the bugs and quirks you had to hammer out before feels so sweet5 -

Since a lot of new iPhones are out after the XR, Apple "removed" the page for iPhone XR and redirect to the /specs page. I tried adding /index.html to the url and tada! :D hahah "I'm in!"
Any other ways I could've gotten to this page? I was going to try the sitemap and the web archive.3 -
My first experience with computers was in "technology" class at school.
The teacher told us we had to switch off the monitor then turn off the computer.
Once, I forgot about this and did the other thing around, and I got yelled at ... It traumatised me so much that for a few years I always did it that way, thinking that I could break something doing otherwise...
I still feel bad thinking about this and hate that teacher for such a useless trauma about a thing he didn't understand either.2 -
Been depressed and bored for the past two days, wish I'm always like this. why?
I learned how to MVVM in WPF and Android.
If only Apple creates something similar to what Microsoft and Google did for data binding.
If it exists please let me know :)9 -
So I think my dumbest project so far was when I created a pseudo-random number generator which instead of using some proper source of randomness used freaking Minecraft Villagers.
I wrote a blog post on it, so feel free to take a look there to see how I did it and perhaps learn something about randomness.

Everytime you use OpenGL in a brand new project you have to go through the ceremonial blindfolded obstacle course that is getting the first damn triangle to show up. Is the shader code right? Did I forget to check an error on this buffer upload? Is my texture incomplete? Am I bad at matrix math? (Spoiler alert: usually yes) Did I not GL enable something? Is my context setup wrong? Did Nvidia release drivers that grep for my window title and refuse to display any geometry in it?
Oh. Needed to glViewport. OK.4 -
I've got a report that one of our machine-learning purpose computers broke down suddenly. I took a look and saw that the thing was stuck at the BIOS screen. The thing that was off was that it did not prompt for any keystrokes. Like, if there were a BIOS problem, there would usually be a prompt to press <F1> to ignore or something, right? But, nope! Even BIOS did not do jack s#!+.
I tinkered around the peripherals for an hour before finally finding something odd - why the f*<k does this computer have a screen hooked up via f*<king D-Sub????????
Yup, somebody hooked up a screen to the base motherboard via D-Sub when they rearranged other computers, even though that machine needed to have a screen hooked up to a GPU via HDMI.

Believe it or not, something like this *really* happened to me once: I was demoing a product to customers and my CEO stopped me when I was halfway through because he genuinely thought that what I was demoing did not exist. -
I'm looking at someone's shit code... and I have to remind myself... we all have the ability to be fucking stupid, especially when we're trying to do something in order to do something else so that we can do something else.
note to self: "always remember, they did the best they could with the resources they had at the time".
But that doesn't change the fact that I need to clean up the crap they left behind.5 -
I'm going insane.
My colleague wanted to sort an excel spreadsheet and got an error. "Can't sort, column width must match" (or something along the lines) . Which basically means you got non uniformly merged cells.
Without telling me this, he asked for training on how to change column width precisely, after spending 30 minutes explaining he done just that. Column by column for all 40 columns he did just that. Resized to 10 of something (no one really knows what those width numbers in Microsoft Excel really mean) and try to sort.
I Shit you knot, he got the exact same error and flipped out angry at me for creating a shitty system (I think he spent an hour or two total with double and triple checking the sizes)
I did laugh because of this, but I do feel bad for not asking what was the real reason before all of this.1 -
Question: Have you ever worked for a toxic company? If so, did do you do something about it? Any tips?
By toxic I mean the abusive kind, where racism and sexism are "just jokes" and where clients are essentially scammed into buying software that doesn't do what they think it does.8 -
slacked off on friday on something i had to deliver. did it today in about two hours just to get done with it. motivation is weird4

Linux.
I love you and hate you at the same time. If something breaks with the boot sequence, usually it involves using a live USB to fix the existing installation, which I directly did once I got a kernel panic.
Checked out the hard disk uuids (I was partitioning), tried chrooting but couldn't get further. Then, I booted again into the faulty Linux installation and the frikkin page said I had to run fsck on my harddrive manually. Did that in the handy provided terminal and guess what, it boots again.
Linux, you can't help people who assume issues, like me. I still like you though3 -
Okay so I just went from getting no feedback on job applications to having more appointments than I can manage.... You'd think this is a good thing but how do you do this with or raising suspicion... Guess it means I did something right in all my hard work and late nights....11

I was almost 2 days in a task to find the reason of a bug in a client's process, then I found something really weird, that made all the team go to my desk to see wtf was happening, then a guy says, "wait, this was not supposed to be in there, I was editing this process in other environment (he knew it because of the number)" , what did we discover? Someone (they haven't told me who), was supposed to put a file in a folder, just it, but the motherfucker did put the file in the wrong environment folder. I lost 2 days chasing a bug that never existed '-'.

Our company does internal projects. I send emails to owners with all the links for a sales funnel. 2 weeks go by, no feedback, we launch, and then I get changes.
Sometimes months will go by and one guy will notice something on a page and be like 'how longs this been there?'
Months... Did you read the email?
Always the same guy.4 -
A large update on UI rolls out, after around 10 rounds of public testing. Waves of complaints finally arrive.
Complaint 1: I liked the old plaintext UI because the UI now has some markdown
Complaint 2: I wish the tabs weren't multiline but I don't want to reduce the number of tabs nor sacrifice the accessibility by making it scrollable or something
Complaint 3: Why did you make boxes we did it fine with a single box filled with plaintext
Complaint 4: The lag is gone but I liked the old laggy UI because it was there for years
Me: dafuq?
PS: dev lead is happy with the results so things are okay at least for now3 -
How dare my manager do his job and nag me about something that I did honestly completely forget about. Rude!

1 in 5 rants in the past week have been about Python bashing. Did I miss some sort of cataclysm or something?11

I find it funny that, one of the most expected features on Windows, is not even a Windows feature. The teams at Microsoft must be feeling the same way we feel when, after a huge project, the client gets super excited when we implement or change something really, really small, that we did in a couple hours, just for fun.
-
Our Joomla-based site just got a redesign. The developer who did it did something wrong. Articles no longer are attached to their parent categories and are now all referenced at the root level in URLs.
I pulled up the 404 log and now see that some website or bot or whatever is hitting up each category for each article, which screws with our SEO 404 report in Google Search Console.
Which means I have to find a way to programmatically redirect every article within every category "up" a level to the root where each article is now found.
And I have no way of knowing which article belongs to which category anymore. Even if I did, a test shows that articles attached to categories still want to come up at the root level, not in their categories.
Joomla is G.A.R.B.A.G.E.3 -
Everytime I am developing an API (from scratch, not when extending an old one) I try to return 418 HTTP error code in places that aren't yet developed or mainly when something that shouldn't have happened did actually happened. (example: failed non-essential assert, yes python)
So it's always lighter on lungs seeing people running around with wtf.png faces when their browser says "I AM A TEAPOT".2 -
Did I ever mention how much I hate reading through perl scripts?
Seriously, I can read through BASH hell anyday, Python's fine, PHP... But out of all of the scripting languages, Perl is just something that makes me want to scratch my eyes out.
It doesn't help it used to be the sysadmin's language of choice in the past.
Perl just hurts my brain.5 -
way back in highschool, for recitation i fixed a bug in the code written on the board with a very small change. feeling proud of my work, i did a 'mic drop'-esque thing on the marker i used.
my prof apparently did not see the change i made, said to the class something about 'having guts, stagefright, etc. he thought i really did not do anything, and just erased the whole thing. i almost lost interest in programming after that.
after college though, graduating top of the class and all, the school asked me to do their website, it was kickass and the board liked it.
months after golive, i came across the same prof in a party for celebrating the success of the website.
i will never forget that "in your face" smug smile i gave him, and the obvious stumped look on his face.
sorry if its too long, here's a rant potato (:/)1 -
Sometimes I think that my computer is possessed.
The story goes like this (typical): adding a new feature creates a bug with something that worked perfectly until now. I find and solve the bug in a few minutes. Now the spooky part: with that sort of bug, even the code that worked up to now shouldn't have worked. But it did. Does someone knows a good Ghostbusters service?1 -
I code. I'm not a network or security admin. Did you even read my resume before hiring me? It says "math degree then data analysis then programming degree" Subnets, firewalls and security certs are not my areas of expertise. Given enough time, could I stumble through? Probably. But I'd probably come up with something worthy of mocking on networkadminrant.

A friend of mine invited me to a project he was given. So basically is a flutter project already started by a guy on Fiverr... I'm just mad at the code the guy wrote! Now we have to refactor the ENTIRE code because the guy didn't know what he was doing!!!
This is my 1st rant, if i did something wrong, please rant at the comment section7 -
I finally found something to rant about! So what happened is that I am participating in the Digital Ocean competition (I need to do 5PR's). So I find a report with a lot of scripts. I decide to contribute and write a discord webhook API (send messages through a webhook). The next day, the guy goes "No thanks :)" and closes the PR. Words cannot express how triggered I am. I ask him if I can make anything else out of exasperation (I did not intend to do anything for him anymore, I can't explain why I did that), he tells me no...

So Apple did make iTunes connect better but why the hell would they disable the tab button to move to next text box? I hope its just something wrong on my end or that would be a dumbass move -_-
On a side note, devRant need to have a category for Apple so it makes it easier for at least me to rant about them -_____-3 -
So we thought we did something wrong and caused our AdX revenue to plunge. But after 'fixing' yesterday, we broke it further. Then we realised there were alot of illogical numbers on AdX report. We are suddenly making 1/3 of our ad revenue! I am running out of ideas. Anyone else is facing same issue?

Ok, so I know that in PHP, psr2-4 are good for making sure your code meets a good standard, but I'm somebody who did most of that rules with minor differences without thinking 10 years before they were created and when somebody points out that my code isnt psr compliant because i wrote
if($something === 0){…}
Instead of
if ($something === 0) {…}
I get fucking angry....2 -
There's a comment I left on a code review on Friday that I have absolutely zero recollection of even looking at the review. On the upside, apparently I did work in my sleep..? It's something that was discussed in today's stand-up...
-
i like to code because:
- it's challenging
- it's very personal, it's my way to solve the problem
- in the end i might have something cool that i did myself and that's priceless -
I have spent 5 days in Microsoft Excel trying to do my budget planner. I struggled a lot and too much Googling. Google started to show reCaptcha whenever I search for something after that.
Yesterday, I spent 3 hours and got my fully functionality web based budget planner done.
I don't know if I did the right thing or not but am really happy and I have the full control. -
So I had this awesome idea yesterday, and I was really in to it and all, so before I started working on it I googled some stuff, and while looking for something (how do you generate session cookies) I just found out that somebody did EXACTLY what I wanted to do. Now I'm sad.7

Story time:
I'm late for a meeting. It's between client, coworker and me. It's different from a normal meetings. So I ask my friend something along the lines of "How to connect to a 3 person call."
His reply: "Did you really just ask me how to connect to a 3 way."
I guess there's always time for one of those jokes -_- -
When working on a schoolproject I actually managed to do loads of work in a night when I was mad drunk.
Two days later I met with the project group again at school and I remembered I did something with the project, but had not the slightest idea anymore.
My project group showed up all excited that a lot of bugs were resolvee and we finally had something really nice working in the frontend thanks to me. It was a similar feeling to waking up when your arm/hand is numb and on your face and you have no clue whats going on, at first youre scared and later it was a damn cool experience. -
How well do you speak git? Name all commands you know how to use 😄:
init, add, commit, remote, cherrypick, push, rm, rebase, reset, submodule.
Did I miss something?16 -
How about a Git for Databases?
Do your changes, delete things, create things, and then when you are sure push these changes to your server.
If you did something wrong like accidentally delete fucking everything, just revert and everything is like before again.
Also you can view history and blame people for doing something wrong.
Tell me what you think about this. Not clue how you could implement this tho... Also I have enough to do already so feel free to take this idea!10 -
This isn't exactly due to coding but computers in general
Doing a "Ctrl + F" with my hands when trying to find something when reading books and going "wtf did I just do?"1 -
why the fuck those images wouldn't load? they come corrupt from K8S, but they are fine if I run the container locally, like... wtf? is Ingress NGINX doing something to them or did I configure something wrong?!15

How can a big company as Facebook, allow that many functions of its website are just untested?
I make you an example, access the mobile version of Facebook from browser, go to a group and change the notifies settings, then refresh the page. The settings returns as before! If I did something like this I'd get fired in less than 0.1 seconds3 -

A colleague of mine has made the right and brave decision to quit. For her it's absolutely the right decision but I hate how the company was OK and did nothing to keep her. I'd like to give her something small when she leaves. I was thinking about a book. Does anyone have any suggestions that might be a nice going-away and good-luck present for a valued colleague?
Is there a book or something similar in size that they really cherish and wish they had had sooner?7 -
Friend: where did you go to college, to do something like that?
Me: oh well I went to the university of my bedroom. -
After 4 hours doing something didn't commit the code cause I don't have a fuckin clue what I did
guess I need good sleep. -
I *hate* it when a senior asks me to write a functional test report. Like I thought we hired functional testers to do that sort of stuff? I'm a programmer, I only write 3 things: code, documentation, and more code. Not freaking reports about how something did not work before, and after this 1-line fix does work. Oh and don't forget to include screenshots and a description of the issue. Arghhh4

Someone in the office(to someone else)- This thing broke yesterday in production. I think this was the problem.
My anxiety- oh that must be something related to what I did. Probably it's my fault, even though I haven't yet pushed anything that's released in production.2 -
Thinking about quitting college more and more.
Not because it's hard, but because I can't bear with it anymore. I had a 3 day break and I noticed I didn't want to just disappear anymore.
What will I if I quit? Work. Try to find work in something electronics or programming related. I know my chances are slimmer than someone who did finish, but I can't...
I dunno3 -
In these days I was a bit sad. I wasn't satisfied of my works, by my website, by everything that i did. 3 days ago I started a little project for the hosting where I work and... wow I didn't believe that i could create something like that... I just love it, I redone my website(I have to finish the responsive 😂) and I learned a lot of things about flask.
I want to say that a little things can change your point of view. It can make you feel better. I'm happy now.2 -
My company boss just changed the holiday rules...
Previously we had 2 Saturday off + 2 casual leaves and bank holidays...
Now as rule we did holiday on Monday, so he is i think angry or something...
He told us now no Saturday off, no bank holiday... Only we will get 2 leaves... That's alll...
I think it's time to Quit... Right?15 -
Holy shit. I'm on the devrant app and I just noticed that the scrollbar on the right does this weird worm thingy.
As I scroll up and down, the scrollbar size keeps changing. It's a cool effect where it twitches like a worm.
Is that an android o feature or something or did @dfox or @trogus add that shet.2 -
I wrote my first blog post. Finally did something I was procrastinating for over a month.

fml. too tired to learn something new. after staring at the screen for half an hour i give up, shut down brain and await to wake up more frustrated because lack of creation.
thought i'd spend a good time coding during my vacation but instead i am exhausted of home restauration. i can hardly remember when was the last time i did something just for fun and not because it simply had to be done.1 -
I went to bed and before sleeping opened an app on my phone that controls the music on my PC.
At first glance it looked like something was different so my first thought was "Ooh, they updated the app" and then I remembered that no, I didn't. I'm a lazy sack of crap that didn't update that app in a while and I didn't even implement everything.
On the plus side, I did actually get the basics working so... :D -
So this morning a guy asked me what my work was, I told him I'm a mobile developer, and what the work consists of
Then he came out with a:
"oh I heard that you developers write code, but which code? Something like Morse code or Braille?"
And i was like: "wtf, did he seriously said that?!"
So I jumped right in and replied
"No, actually I see pretty sharp"
... but I think he didn't get it ..uhh so sad :c -
Recently started an apprenticeship as software developer and tried to build something with JavaScript... aka. copy pasted a bit and after a while my brain kept shouting at me: "YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING, TAKE A FKIN BOOK AND YOU'LL MAYBE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOURE DOING THERE!" - and I did... turns out that the book is quite old and I finally landed on Codecademy - now I make progress :).
Made some smaller things in other languages before, but never really understood things like objects and classes... codecademy helps! And I can already laugh about some things here :D. This app is great! I feel like I'm part of "something".
Have a nice Day :)!3 -
I just draw for hours and play games. Sometimes I play the piano (very rarely now, idk where to progress in play by ear). Currently I'm learning spoken languages (Japanese, sorry not fan of anime, just finding something to learn, I did deutsch and russian at first but failed so yea.)

My config-manager for Linux.
I began writing these apps because, I was fed up with changing shellscripts and make files, whenever I had new make files to add or something.
The first one was just a simple shells script, but it did its job.
The second one was in pearl6, i t was better but still a bit hacky.
The now 3rd installation is a complete redesign in Go and works like a charm.

oh shitty shit of all shits in the world
I just run out of time on a crossover test of Android Architect because of a stupid call by a stupid old friend.
The test were a bit difficult but I did something really good, and I was on the step 4/5. -
Working on a game in Unity for a school project, spent several hours trying to implement a feature... successfully implemented it... only to realize that the feature does something very different than I thought it did.
I thought LoadSceneMode.Additive loaded scenes into memory in the background so I could just switch to them for faster load times... nope, it loads the scenes and just stacks them on top of each other or something like that... Unless I'm still misunderstanding...4 -
Why project manager use group chat to discuss an issue which is related only to one developer, meanwhile other getting messages and notifications which they have no idea and putting their attention something they have no business?
Sometime I did not read message cause I think they are not related to me then I get personal message please check group.
Now other team members are using group chat when they want to discuss something with manager.
Why you people think scope of message before send it???1 -
So I'm back in school for a graduate program... mostly just to continue deferring loans because that seemed like a smart choice....
Anyway I'm back in school and at the end of the third class I realize I just spent the last hour teaching the class....how to hack....how did this happen?
I'm so disoriented I don't know what's going on anymore...I get to work and suddenly I'm teaching again...when did this happen?
Am I now stuck in some role as a mentor and teacher? If that's the case we are all screwed.
Those who can't do instead teach?
So, who wants to learn something useful? The below is pretty entertaining.

You know what makes no sense and sucks?
I call it "metamedia" (whatever dafuq the genre is actually called).
I mean these books/podcasts/movies about how someone did something. Actually more or less it's just a biography of some dude who did something somewhen, called "The <name of dude> principle". And most of them could be just a really long interview in some newspaper. But there is no money in newspapers, right? Better publish it as book and all the other platforms/things used for enjoyment before this storm of biographies started.
Audible is full of these and I do enjoy informing myself about the success of some Elon Musk but at some point its fucken enough.:D -
So the other day I kept seeing too many of "if it fits, it sits" jokes. It was one of the days I was messing around with my app. So I did something to make it work. I didn't know what and I went "If it works, it twerks". I know it's stupid but I crack myself up every time I say it. 😂
-
I was making games for fun in C++, learnt from random internet sites, then my other half said something like "you could probably make some money doing that".
I did. -

I find IT to be an amazing field. There are so many parts to it that take tremendous dedication to fully understand, yet, each part works together.
Teams of people dedicated their entire life to software development, which would be impossible if teams of people did not dedicated their entire life to the development of operating systems. That would be impossible if teams of people did not dedicated their entire life to integrating hardware and software. That again would be impossible if teams of people did not dedicated their entire life to electrical engineering.
I know I missed tons of subfields that link everything together, but just the massive amount of dedication and teamwork to make something as simple as a console application work properly is amazing. I wish I could understand it all and I hope everything will always be as easily accessible my entire life as it is now.2 -
Ok finally, I can tell now.
There's a college project I'm in with 2 more people that uses Python and AnyLogic (separately).
We also need to write some LaTeX, so as I was already using PyCharm for the Pyshit, I used it for the LaTeX and for Git.
I used it for Git too because I didn't know how it used Git and was worried that if I used the console it didn't recognize something or glitched out or something. And what the hell, it's a mature IDE, what could be so hard or possibly go wrong?
I had to re download the repo a couple of times because between pushes, pulls, merges and commits something happened and the repo ended in a weird state.
These are all the things I do:
Add, commit, create branches, merge, push, pull and delete branches.
So, I hadn't opened in some time. The last time I tried to bring something from another branch, and stayed up late to finish something. I was waiting for my classmates to join the call when I thought something like "Hey, I should commit what I did until now, it worked great.". When I examined the IDE I found out I was in the middle of a rebase or something. I start clicking buttons to at least try to commit. I press "Skip Commit". I lose everything.
What the fuck‽ As you can see in the comprehensive list above, I never do something similar to a rebase. Apparently when I tried to merge a couple of branches, the stupid IDE thought I tried to do a rebase and never asked me to finish it. Why do something I have never asked? Plus, why haven't you prompted me to finish the operation? That's so stupid. I'm never trusting IDEs again.
I was so lit for losing so many hours of work I did a couple of weeks before, I would have to think it and do it all over again because of something I never asked.
We spent an hour looking for a way to recover the lost code.
Why an hour, you ask, if you can use the Local History for that in PyCharm?
Because none of us had used it before and the articles we found said that you had to open it from the toolbar. From the toolbar it was greyed out.
Then I found the option in the contextual menu of the files. Recovered the LaTeX files but on the AnyLogic files, it was greyed out.
I had to open the Local History of the folder containing the AnyLogic file.
And that was that.
I almost faint.
Fuck Python, fuck PyCharm.8 -
Actually, the office. Because it's a space exclusively for working.
I did home office for quite a while and still do so from time to time but i get distracted and/or lazy too easily to really get something done at home.
In the office, I have to be focused and so I am for 8+ hrs.

We have people from all different types of backgrounds here on DevRant, and I feel like lots of us just kind of spontaneously discovered the dev world without really planning on it.
That makes me wonder, what did you major in during college, and is it related to what you're doing now? Did you major is Computer Science/Software Engineering/Web Development, or something completely different?
I double-majored in Algebraic Geometry and Astrophysics, and while my math background does come in handy as a developer, I'm very rarely applying what I actually specialized in to my dev work4 -
So this morning, I was having problems with Explorer.exe. So I did a sfc /scannow to fix it.
After booting, my PC would not boot. I thought I did something to break it. I kept turning it off and on. I was scared that I broke my computer again.
I plugged out my keyboard. It booted.
Then I realized--it was my stupid broken keyboard being weird again.

Did something happen with notifs? The app says I have 71 unread notifs, but in reality I only had 5 unreads and the rest was just old (read) stuff.

I have a question for you guys and gals.
Why did you start coding?
For me, it was because I find the thought of making something that has never existed amazing. Truly amazing. Possibly changing the world from behind one screen is an exciting concept for me6 -
For a year straight my mom was yelling at me to get off my but and do something. little did she know I was learning to program and would one day land an awesome high-paying job.

I asked this on Twitter, but I get the feeling that I might get more responses here and I'm really curious to know what people's answers are.
No judgement question: As a developer, when you’re working on a project that involves something you’ve done previously, how often do you check if the way you previously did it is still the recommended way before referring to your old code to accomplish the task?7 -
Dev programming something
Code reviewer: Change x, change y change a to b
Dev: okay ( I don't give a f**k, just merge my code)
Dev made changes...
Code reviewer: why did you placed b instead of a, can you revert back x...
Dev: F**k u!!
Have u guys experienced this??1 -

I was at school and one of my friends asked me to help with his code. He said that his image wouldn't appear on his website.
I checked his code and it was right, so I checked his images folder.
The image he wanted to put on his HTML document was something like "prev.img". I was a bit confused. A file with a .img extension? He did put his code right, but there was still something wrong. I right clicked the image and went to the properties. The file extension was .jpg.
I eventually corrected his code but I still can't find out how he fooled himself. smh -

[Update on previous rant at the bottom]
So I had the technical test last friday. I did not try to implement any automated test as it is not my forte.
I had three hours to showcase my knowledge of data structures and OOP so I did that.
The test was somewhat long actually, so I left out one part that I did not have time to implement: validation of input files.
Today I got feedback, everything went well, they liked my code and I only got two negatives: Error handling and automated tests xD
Now I'm going to the second phase: phone interviews and they are gonna asks the whys of my implementation.
I'll have to explain why I did not implement automated tests and the girl on the phone told me "they didn't like it much that you had no tests because tests are very important for us".
I guess I'll have to come clean and say that I'm not very strong on that but willing to learn, so I didn't want to risk it doing something I'm not really good at.
I hope it ends up well.

Dear me, It's spelled feTCH. It's caused you like an hour between today and yesterday mispelling FETCH as feCth. Why use it at all? I mean it's there now but next time, why not use GET or REQUEST or anything that you will spell correctly 100% of the time and prevent confusion when autocomplete gets it "wrong" because "derp, fetchFoobar is defined, derp dee derp what did I do"?
It's been a long week when the target of the rant is my own dumb habits.

Anyone here has installed Ubuntu alongside Windows 10 with UEFI? Did you find any problems?
I have installed other distros on the past, but in computers with the old BIOS so it wasn't much problem.
But now I will be installing it on my laptop, which I use for work so I would like something reliable. Personally I prefer Arch, but on the desktop.
I know there are endless tutorials and videos on internet, but I would like to hear some people's hands on experience.
Thanks :)21 -
I haven't written serious code in 3 months. By serious I mean I haven't thought a lot about a problem or developed something difficult to develop.
Also I have avoided coding whenever I could.
I did that after a friends' advice as they saw me burned out for real and quite sad at the time.
Honestly, I feel much better emotionally and my overall mood has much less tension. Gonna start coding for real soon after getting that out of my system. -
I was doing something in Git, switching and I guess another process was doing a fetch and now all the files no meter what bench I'm in says Unstaged/Untracked.
I tried deleting the main branch and checking it out again from remote but nothing.
I have no idea what I did or how to fix... Seems like I need to delete the whole folder... But then I'd lose any changes in feature branches out local branches which afternoon checked in....8 -
I feel a bit confused rigt now.
Did i misunderstand something with this random little excercise?
" Write a Java program to find the index of a value in a sorted array. If the value does not find return the index where it would be if it were inserted in order. Example:
[1, 2, 4, 5, 6] 5(target) -> 3(index)
[1, 2, 4, 5, 6] 0(target) -> 0(index)
[1, 2, 4, 5, 6] 7(target) -> 5(index) "
Here is what i did lol:

And here is the official solution:

Their solution seems a bit unnecessary complicated lol or am i wrong1 -
Literally can't afford to sleep less than 6 hours two nights in a row. If I do, like I did last night, my dumb tired sleepwalking ass will just turn off my two alarms and be late for work by like an hour.
How does something like this happen? I have no recollection of waking up even briefly to turn off my alarms but I know I wouldn't sleep in consciously on a work day, so whom can I even blame?3 -
I almost never enter a commit message for my private git repos. Sometimes I even forget what I did to some of the files (Unreal Engine files are mostly binary except the config and c++ files, so not that easy to check for changes). That combined with my bad attitude to change some stuff here, then fix a minor bug there and then start something completely unrelated leads me just saying fuck it and commiting without message.1

I make programs for a client and ask for what he wants in it specifically. I make the programs how he tells me and when I get to something I have to decide on I just come up with a nice way of doing it(in my opinion). I finish the project and show it to the client and he gets all pissy saying to change how I did something. Of course that something was something I had to decide on and he didn't tell me how to do. 😐

I hate relatable/anxiety/cringe posts, but I need to talk about this.
Sometimes when I try to sign and focus on hitting notes and making it sound good, I get a sudden flashback to something weird I did in the past.
It's either something extremely cringey/embarassing or just plain out asshole'y, mostly from when i was a teen.
It's weird how sudden and vivid the memory of these actions get. One second I'm singing, the other I'm clenching my stomach thinking "oh god why did I do that?"
I also make the signing turn into making weird fucking noises and going very off pitch.
Some people find it easy to let go of the past. Not this guy. -
I have created a small system of care records for the provider i wich i work. I did It because i realized it would be useful and much more pratical. After being ready and properly tested, i introduced the supervisor of my sector. Their words were the followers: "I think at the moment se need something more pratical and simple."
Imagine how frustrated i was. I made the entire system of free Will spontaneously, so that a supervisor who does not know or make a RJ45 cable(is TRUE) disapprove only because he was jealous of something i did for the good of all.
I was a supervisor of the same type of sector in my old job, and frankly, If i had a programmer on my team, i was GLORIFYING FOOT!!!

The worst, and only, hackaton I ever attended was at a conference a few years back.
My boss told me to attend. So I did.
The hackaton was clearly not something the conference had planned very well, as the info was late one day before the conference dinner party - and the summary was early the morning after the party. -
Sometimes you don't need to think of an interesting or funny rant because life does it itself!
Several years ago I did my Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics which was not Informatics at all - regret at that time that I had choosen the subject.
After that started working for HP in a business/ marketing role which was quite nice but missing any technics.
So I internally applied for a dev role that was quite purely based on Linux knowledge that I did not have. Seems I convinced with my will to learn something new every day. And I did!
After two years in that role I now have my Linux certificate (CompTia Linux+), did a great job (according to my boss) and I am starting my Master's Degree in pure Informatics next week!
That led me to the most important decision - registering here at devRant. Seems we are colleagues now ;D.
Wish me luck and thank you all!1 -
I did an oopsie.
I accidentally accepted a job/project through a friend and realized later that I would have to use wordpress which I have absolutely 0 experience with.
The thing is it's a website for swimming club and at first I was like sure let me just recycle this old school project. But then I've realized they are gonna need something dynamic (to update their schedules etc.) and that they will need something user friendly.
Later I found out that their previous website uses wordpress and that they like it and wanna keep that.
So here I am, thinking if I should just back off or try the dangerous way of learning it while creating the website (it probably wouldn't be worth the money since they won't pay much).
Honestly, how did I even get to this point.2 -
My brain as stopped, I know I have done this in the past but I have 100% forgotten how I did it, I am creating a website where when I am singed in/connect to it, it enables more content, the content would be only hosted via my computer, when I did it in the past I did it behind a none upnp router but I have no idea who I did it, I am sure I did use a tool but I forget what.
Now I have no idea how to word it so unable search for something like it, why dose my brain do this two me.
Anyone know how to file deleted and forgotten files in brain OS 0.1.

Are there other options to make this go any shorter?

I'll remove some courses - make some optional and some courses mandatory.
I'll explain- I did my B.E. degree in I.T. I'll remove some courses like the ECE subjects (Digital electronics , Communication Theory) - something I'll never use. If I will - I can learn it at that time. Some mandatory courses like DBMS, OS etc. And some optional ones you can take according to your passion like - security courses or scalability courses etc. -

Hey ranters who once shared my inability to just announce when I don't understand something, how did you get over it and just embrace pointing out that you're confused at this point in time?
I tend to just brush stuff off and figure I'll have time to properly investigate and figure it out later, which usually works, but it does mean I will keep quiet if something isn't entirely clear.
I think this is bad and I'd to stop doing it. At the same time, it doesn't seem worth interrupting a discussion / explaining to ask what something is when I can look it up now or later and fill in the mental gap. I guess there's a balance to be found. Any tips? Any slaps to the face?8 -
I lost the enthusiasm I had for just programming languages mostly functional languages. I see my peers who were already in the game. I came late, did all the functional hardcore bullshit and become a top pro and now lost interest.
Now its until and unless I don't see something working end to end nicely, go fuck your shit. But regardless fuck OOP3 -
I was trying to do something in this automation program. I was looking through forums and someone posted a python script that did something sort of similar. I was reading that and thought "hold on a second, this sort of makes sense. if I change this..." and then I changed it and it did what I wanted. Up until that moment I thought programming was for galaxy brains only and never considered getting into it

How do I overcome the fear of failure as a developer? I know that failures are a daily thing in the life of a developer but I'm severely afraid to mess things up. My colleague explained something to me that also involves making changes to the database but I'm really afraid to make mistakes. How does one overcome that initial fear? And did anyone experience the same as a junior developer?4

DevRant Stress Ball Rant.
Today, I was like its time to finally mail and get myself one of them stress balls.
Turns out it requires 300+... arrghhhhh. Damn it. When did this happen? Was it always 300+? I remember seeing 200+ before.. Damn...was I too late or was I mistaken? I guess it's going to increment even more since the community continues to grow.. *sigh* :(
Now I guess I would need a blood sacrifice or something to get anywhere near those numbers..5 -
There is something that bothers me at this moment, so basically I started structuring my methods like this: methodName({id}, {auth}) instead of methodName(id,auth), I did this so that I have to specify the id and auth inside the object variables in method and not be able to inverse the order, at this point I think that I did something extremely stupid and doesn’t make any sense or it is good for better strcturing, your toughts ?
P.S. Should have used typescript from the beginning4 -
Something on my computer corrupted and now windows explorer crashes when I try to create or rename files. I did integrity checks and got nothing, so now I'm doing disk checks. It has been at 26% for over an hour.10

So I've sent emails to a couple of people (some of which I found on devRant) that were offering work. Typed a small story about myself and why I'd love to take the work.
No reply whatsoever.
Like, I get it if you don't want me, completely understand that, but how hard is it to let me know that.
Like c'mon guys, don't be a dick.
Disclaimers: I got the email address right, they did not land in my spam or whatever since I did receive an email from them in an earlier part of the correspondence. I did give them (what is in my opinion) a reasonable time to respond. They also didn't die or something since they are still active here...2 -
Starting a new job tomorrow. Haven't worked in more than 6 months, but did some leetcoding in the meantime. Problem is, I don't miss programming. I think I would just like a boring job for a bit, something not in the tech sector. Don't know why, I think I'm disillusioned with it. People with egos and lack of basic social skills/courtesy, bullshit work... I really hope this one's going to be better.2

a) No documentation. At least you know from the start where you are.
b) Light documentation. At least you might have an API reference or something
c) Badly translated but complex documentation. Had this when I worked for a car manufacturer. Docs were badly translated and actually gave you a dangerously wrong or opposite description of what things really did. It was mental! -
Did I miss the memo on the latest trend or something?
The past week every teams convo seems to be hitting me with the “hello?”, “are you there?”, “gone for coffee?”, “?”
I swear they’re copy pasted because I reply within moments of the first rude message 😂4 -
!rant
Did anyone see or use this ? https://tabnine.com/
I thinks it looks pretty cool and IMO if something needed to be done using ML it was this.1 -
TFS did it again! Merged changes into something that doesn't build! So I had to undo my changes and lost an hour of work. Isn't the whole purpose of TFS to enable teams to work with the same code concurrently?6

Sometimes YouTube recommends something fantastic like this. I really did not search for "how to send an 'email'"! Email prescriptions are still syfy for many countries, and that bit on taking fridge inventory on the computer is a bit of an overkill even today! The transmission at the end, freakyyyyyyy!

What do you call something that hunts bugs for lifetime?
P.S: it is not a spider. I hired them once and all they did was treason, quack!5 -
Sorry for posting a non dev goal
1. Check every social media ultra often and the first thing in the morning. I was late or sometimes completely missed something because I did not check my social media. Today I missed school because study leve was kinda cancelled. But guess what did not check my social media for the announcement and checked it in rhe afternoon when school was long over. No nwed to check email because nearly nothing important comes there except my report card which is resent on whatsapp 4 times a year6 -
Anybody using the 52/17 Pomodoro technique? If so what results did it give you till now? I am using it for 2 days and finally I feel like I can focus on something.4

I am in final year in computer science and i have to do a license. I know for sure it will be something about networking( not programming)(I am junior sysadmin in a company, i told you that so you can make an idea about the field). I did not find any great idea until now. Can you help me with some ideas? Thank you.

Lately, I've seen in some article against the Electron framework and read some people thought that "the Web, in general, is a waste/curse/..."
Did I miss something somewhere about that? I know Electron has that Java syndrome where it has to pack so many things in one executable while it could be less heavy than this (here, the Chromium browser for instance), but the Web in general?5 -
IntelliJ themes suck shit. I can't tell errors from warnings, comment errors from syntax errors, where the syntax errors are, ...
I've been trying to configure something sensible for hours now and no luck.
Go fuck yourself JetShitForBrains. I just need to code a simple method. Did I mention that JetBrains can go fuck themselves?6 -
I did something really stupid and I need some help.
I was trying to use rvict1 to catch packets from my iPhone. I was high when I was doing it and my Mac asked for some type of permission. I pressed OK by accident instead of using the option to modify my system preferences to continue the process. Now I can’t get that systems preference window to show again. Anybody got any tips?9 -
When something is still broken after I fix it
When fixing one bug creates two more bugs
When I am too lazy to do anything at all
When I have to fix bugs in code I did not write
Whether the sun is shining or not,
whether it is hot outside or cold,
I always feel the same...1 -
So this happens way too often;
you make some changes in your code and open your testing environment and expect to see results, but you don't. You wonder why, did I mess something up? everything seems to be correct?
aaand then you glimpse for a second at the url and realise you have the staging environment page up.. -
Hm... Its sorta nice after another tiring day but not really feel I have to do something productive tonight... Since I already did something this morning. Anything else is now ++... And I don't feel as guilty watching TV/Just relaxing

Another student rant..
So I have a midterm exam tomorrow. It's a software engineering course. We're being forced to basically memorize a ton of shit about stuff like requirements engineering, activity diagrams and interaction models...
I have never been this bored in my life. Especially while studying something computer science related.
We are also developing a project for the course and that is a ton a fun and I'm learning a lot. But still, this isn't how I want to spend my weekend.
How did you go through the times where you had to learn a lot of bullshit that you didn't excited about? You did go through this shit right?3 -
Was talking about jokes in general at work today. Asked someone if they knew about jokes where you read something out loud. Ended up having them read this aloud:
We Todd did
Eye yam we Todd did
Eye yam sofa king we Todd did
Some people don't get it even when read aloud. Afterwards I thought: eye yam sew hymn mat tour
Edit: Oh, we could get people to read this to their dev duck. lol2 -
Is anyone else having issues with animated gifs being clipped to their first frame? Or did I just miss something?21
-
I just accepted a project for a high budget but i never did something on that big of a scale. I have the budget to consult with experts if i need them but in just feeling insecure about it.
at the same time i want to take it so i add it to my portfolio and i believe i can overcome any obstacle im just a bit scared
is that normal, any advice?1 -
Did I miss something?
why do I remember img tag <img src=https://test.com> used to include cookies of test.com with samesite flag None from cross-origin.
But now it just don't
I am confused -
Today I visited my ex-employer's company website and then checked what is new and what is still same. I was chatbot developer. Then after some hours one colleague(he also left there) told me that our old employer called him and was angry about what did we do. That friend is fullstack dev and I don't know much about those stuffs too. But while surfing the website, I tried to use their platform but couldn't because it didn't give me any resoonse.
So either the employer is dumb, or fullstack dev did something f*kstack and it is broken by just clicking 'login as guest' and receiving nothing. What do you think? -
Excuse my question I might be the one to blame, but on Typescript 3.7 JSON.stringify parses numbers as strings, while on 3.4 it was working without issues.
I'm no pro in web dev but I did use JSON.stringify lots of times and that's something strange here, not sure what the cause is, but when I parse number props again using parseInt(value.toString()) it works .-.2 -
Fuck you creator of that video: https://youtube.com/watch/...
this shit does not work.
At line:
const app = createApp(App);
"Uncaught TypeError: Object(...) is not a function"
wtf. Or fuck vue? maybe in another place I did something wrong but I cannot see? And error is written by idiot. What object? createApp object? Then why it is not a fuction? I have imported it as was in the fucking video
import {createApp} from 'vue'
so how the fuck it can be not a function?
DId
console.log(createApp)
and it shows it is fucking undefined. So yea, it is not a fuction.2 -
What do you mean " 'StyleProvider' cannot be used as a JSX component"? That was added 8 months ago. Did something change in React 16 (yup 16) in the last few days since I ran an npm i? Dammit? Now I have to go dig through commits and see what changed5

I don’t know what to do now. I’ve been applying for over 200 hundred jobs over the past year. In March it will complete almost an year after I graduated and I still haven’t found a job. I graduated with honours, did extra curricular stuff like programming clubs, hackthons, competitions. I built different projects and got many certifications online. I honestly have no idea how I can advertise myself any different because I must be doing something very wrong.1

Did 2 leetcodes today. (will be more in future)
https://leetcode.com/problems/...
I remember I did something similar. The idea is that converting single letter to number, so sum2 - sum1 = the_added_letter
https://leetcode.com/problems/...
Don't know how to do it, so copy the answer. (I copy the answers most of the time) The idea is that on the same level, we sum the left or keep going down to left. For right, we just go down there. Little trick is that we use root.left.left or root.left.right.2 -
*Put random technology here* fucks me so hard. God damn it its so bad for my made up reasons. I did a fucking mistake at some point and now something of that falls back to me.. blah blah
God I hate blaming technology for your mistakes. Don't get me wrong, there is bad shit out there. But this random bashing is annoying. -
did she ask why i said that :P nope.
not sure if she even commented last time.
naybe because i saw she sampled something i said when younger and happier person.
welcome to no end house
do you people feel dead yet ? like wraiths worn out and wandering at the edge of the town ?
