Once I had a summer job at the town hall that ran some mainframe program.
The woman explaining this program was like 'now that you've pushed that we have to go back 3 screens and return to it just to check if the data has been properly updated.'.
I'm first thinking like 'wtf' followed by a 'could it be' and pushed the F5 button. The thing refreshed instantly and the women went wild! (That is after staring for 2 whole seconds with her jaw dropped at the screen, unable to grasp what just happened.)
HUU?! WHAT! WHAT DID YOU PRESS!!??? HOW DID YOU..??
Turns out she was been going back and forth these screens for over more than 20 years!

I feel darn good today! I caught some A-holes cheating the system on Stack Overflow.
So basically a question was asked with no code examples present and not a single reference to any framework being used.
The tag only had 'javascript', which probably limits to only 157.244.457 existing frameworks.
I'm commenting something like 'Show us your code so we can have a look'.
After 2 minutes, out of the blue, an answer appears. AND WOW! This guy had a Magical 8 Ball™!
He could predict the framework AND had a very specific fix. Just a one-liner! Go figure!
So I'm like thinking.. What the fuck just happened? Did I miss something? «Going over the question two more times»
All of the sudden, up-votes start popping up all over the place. The question was marked 3 times, the answer was marked an up-voted multiple times, and THEN it hit me (I'm kind of slow).
I checked both user profiles and instead of the usual 'air of mystery', these guys were actually dumb enough to include their company name.
AssertEquals == true.
So in the comment section, I raise my concerns on the legitimacy of the question as clearly this was 'telephoned' as we say it in Dutch, meaning as much as 'rehearsed' in this context.
But as if that was not enough, this another guy comes in and COPY/PASTED(!) the answer of guy #1. Again. Up-votes. EVERYWhere.
So I start going over some of the questions and answers of The Three Musketeers or TTM, as I'll refer them as of now.
TTM had posted over 15 questions combined, mostly crap and incomplete no-code questions. And they had answered most of their own questions.
Sometimes another guy's answer was accepted with zero up-votes as a smoke screen while the real winner was one of their own.
I marked ALL of these questions for moderation, left for lunch, and came back to see how far my blast radius reached.
Turns out, pretty damn far! Although their accounts have not been deleted, TTM have lost most of their reputation points.
They will remain on my watchlist for a couple of months. I know that is quite childish of me, but I just call it my 'guilty pleasure'! ;D
And besides, what else is there to do, instead of browsing DevRant?13 -
Fuck yeah this will be my greatest answer on Stack Overflow thus far!
Massive loads of examples, references to code, discussions and articles and now finally busy on the final conclusion...
wait... WHAT!!!!?>? !@@#$#SH$['\'4 -
Has anyone read the latest rant from Microsoft?
https://blogs.microsoft.com/on-the-...
<<Finally, this attack provides yet another example of why the stockpiling of vulnerabilities by governments is such a problem. This is an emerging pattern in 2017. We have seen vulnerabilities stored by the CIA show up on WikiLeaks, and now this vulnerability stolen from the NSA has affected customers around the world. Repeatedly, exploits in the hands of governments have leaked into the public domain and caused widespread damage.>>12 -
Haha so this just happened;
Father in law came to me asking 'hey you as an IT guy, why does my Spotify app stops after x minutes every time'?
I say to him 'dnno never had the issue on Android, but you have a Microsoft phone, right?'
So he says; 'why are you asking? Isn't my Windows phone good enough for you? Ok already I'll try searching for an answer myself then on Google'.
So I go 'k k hold on I'll Google it for you'.
*ROFLMAO11 -
In the 3 interviews in the company which I started my career in, I stated firmly (ABOUT A DOZEN OF TIMES) I didn't wanted to program. So they made me program 8hours a day in all kinds of different languages and frameworks. Funny enough I liked it... Still very glad it worked out the way it did

In the country of beer, Belgium, you can make a man jealous just by owning a couple of bottles of Orval, trappist beer.
There is a shortage of the beer so the abbey decided not to distribute it in super markets (It sometimes occurs, but not by default).
But yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, I struck FUCKING GOLD!11 -
Just lost a ton of rep on stackoverflow because some ass deleted his question.
Why do I even bother helping these people. I cannot remember4 -
From the 100+ employees in our team I was the only one without a company car.
After a couple of years and having driven across Europe for all sorts of business-related stuff, I asked one myself because my own rusty car was failing on me more and more. I was told it was against company policy to give me one which was total BS ofcourse.
This among other lies which I discovered led me to ragequit. BEST decision so far.
Working olmost 6 years for my current employer and never have I been (feeling) cheated on! -
MOTHERFUCKING SHIT FOR BRAIN RETARDS POSTING UTTER DUMB QUESTIONS ON STACKOVERFLOW EXPECTING YOU TO JUST GIVE THEM THE ANSWER AND FUCK OFF.
I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THOSE MORONS THAT DO NOT EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO SAY THANK YOU, LET ALONE ACCEPT YOUR ANSWER WHICH THEY JUST COPY/PASTE IN THEIR SHITTY FUCKING CODEBASE FULL OP STRING CONCATENATION BULLCRAP. CRAWL BACK TO THE SHADOWS FROM WHENCE YOU CAME YOU DUMBASS SLACKER SOFTWARE-NOOBS. YOU HAVE NO PLACE AMONG CARING DEVELOPERS!!!7 -
Back in high school we did a
net send to all with a message to turn off all computers for the next half an hour for maintenance. Lots of classes finished early due to this little prank, including ours.
They found out soon enough but luckily let us off the hook. -
I suspect the creator of YAML to also run a private psychiatric hospital. I mean; meaningful spaces... Who comes up with that!?1

Some 'ethical hacker' living in my country scanned all domains of attachments in tweets of Donald Trump. He found out that one was expired and bought it for 10$. He then placed a arguingly funny movie at the exact location. Quite funny.

Everyone has these projects sooner or later;
PM: 'You have 2 weeks to finish. It HAS to be done by then because they will start using it ASAP!!'
Me: Working day and night to meet the deadline.
After 2 years PM comes by;
PM: remember that program? They're testing it now. They plan to use it in production.

When you take your daily dosage of antidepressants to suppress the feeling you get from using that frameworks which advertises in large letters 'Making development fun again'.1
