Well... I cruch hundreds of them on weekends. And leave them some blue methaldehyde grains to chew on while I'm gone.

Fun fact: rat poison is not toxic to snails, so they eat it in large amounts. It accumulates in their bodies and makes them extremely poisonous to dogs that may eat them out of curiosity.

The Panamanian golden frog — the most toxic creature known to man (one touch can kill you, a full frog of 3 to 12 grams can kill two elephants) — uses the same mechanism with certain types of bugs it eats. Those frogs don't produce poison on their own, but rather synthesize it from the bugs.

Snails essentially took a shortcut :D
