    Although you couldn't and wouldn't want to add the "icon" to someone's desktop automatically, you could create an Electron app for them to download and get to your website quickly.

    Yeah not that unusual at all depending on the type of site. We needed it for our EHR system. Just basically a shortcut to the website

    well.... you could exploit flash to do it using some kind of zero day exploit.....
